The item used a metric carriage bolt as the axle of the string spool. The head of the carriage bolt is supposed to be locked in place by a small dimple extending from the outside surface of the device. However, the dimple of the unit that I received did not extend far enough out from the surface of the device, or the carriage bolt head was not wide enough, to make solid contact with the head of the carriage bolt, so the carriage bolt would just continue to spin when I tried to tighten the wing nut on the opposite side of the device. I would have returned the unit, except, I tried to correct the issue myself, and it no longer would be acceptable as a return due to multiple distortions of the unit.
