Since I did not have the proper operating manual and the seller could not provide me with one, I had to search to find a manual that should be correct. Calibrating this model requires you to have a standard to compare to. I had to guess as to the sugar/water content of my sample for calibration purposes and make my product samples based on maybe incorrect calibration. A strong source of light is required. Initially from the one slide on the site, I thought I was getting a 0 to 100% scale on the refractometer instead of the 58 to 90 so having to adjust my expectations.

Works great. Calibrated it with extra virgin olive oil. Google it if you're not sure how. My old one took too many tumbles in the storage box and broke after 5 years. I'll be more careful with this one.

Very good value for price. My liquid honey was too thick to suction up using the pipette, however I did use the tip of the pipette to scoop up honey and neatly smear on the glass window.

Instructions in Chinese. Seems to be like others so I calibrated to another refractometer .
