They're a great set of spoons. We eat a lot of Asian soups and these spoons are always great to use. Love how there is a slight crook in the handle, so it sits nicely on the rim of your bowl and doesn't disappear in your soup. I did notice, as other reviews pointed out, that the 'crook in the handle' underneath, isn't glazed. This doesn't bother me. They wash up just fine with no problems at all.I highly recommend them and other Vicrays items.

I'm really happy with these spoons! My boyfriend and I are big on Asian foods and regularly get dishes like ramen and pho. Eating them with normal spoons just isn't the same you know? So I got these to match my blue plates and bowls and they are so nice. Ramen is just so much better with chopsticks and an Asian soup spoon like this. The spoon isn't very deep but is wide for ease of cooling and picking up chunks like seaweed and tofu. The only thing I have against this spoon is how short the lip catcher is. With deeper bowls the catcher is only at the very end so almost my entire spoon is inside my soup! But it's still nice to have the catcher since at least I'm not digging around in my soup trying to find it.

These are just what I was looking for -- Asian style spoons for miso soup or ramen meals. The color is really beautiful -- goes with all my blues and blacks -- and I love that they have the little nook at the top that can hold the spoon against the side of the bowl. Very sturdy and easy to clean.

These spoons are nice. They came very well packaged so they would not break if they got knocked around. They have a nice weight to them and they sit nicely in small bowls. The only thing I do not like is that there isn't any flat spot (on the bottom), which means they do not sit still on a flat surface.

I have vicrays Starry Blue dining set which I (and everyone who sees them) love.Unboxing these spoons, the first thing that hit me was how light in color they were. I was confused for a solid minute until I realized it's darker (/the main Starry Blue color) on the very tip of it, which means it's the same glaze that just set differently from the plates and bowls (maybe because of the shape, who knows).In the end I figured the differences in color will be interesting and nice.The only thing that gives me pause is the unglazed portion under the top curve of the spoons (3rd pic).I realize that with glazed pieces there needs to be a "naked" spot for it to rest while in the oven (for plates and bowls it's usually a ring on the bottom of the piece) but this spot is... big. The ratio of the size of this spot versus the entirety of the spoon... couldn't vicrays make it a little smaller?Overall I still love the spoons, and the naked spot is in the best place it could be (ie the opposite side from the functional area) but I still feel a bit emotionally unsettled by it.Hopefully in subsequent batches they'll find a way to minimize it, even if it's just a little.

These soup spoons are rock solid with some heft to it, while also gorgeous to look at (see picture) with its blue-ish metallic finish.Can hold just the right amount of soup whether just broth or with chunks of meat and vegetables. I used to use those soup spoons you find at Chinese restaurants that were kind of squared, but these just blow those away! Definitely well worth it!

I love soup dumplings. They don't really work with regular spoons. These are beautiful. There is so much more dimension to the glaze than you can see in the pictures. The size and weight are both great. I think that these would make a great gift. They are large enough to hold the soup dumplings.
