I was looking for the video peephole that does not erase or delete, only overwrite. This one has a menu that let's you delete any and all files. Anyone can delete on their way out of the house, and you will only see the back of their hood. Im sending both of them back.I set it to record for 30 seconds, it kept cutting off after 7 seconds. No motion detections..

Had a previous generation. Lasted for years. Old one eventually had the micro pins bent then broke.1. The most critical thing is be very careful any/every time you disconnect the microchip looking thing on the inside end that attached to the back of the monitor. It's price is amazing, but despite it feeling so cheap and flimsy, we have cheap phones that are super cheap and work well and long if you are careful when handling2. DON'T install the AAA batteries till done and secure. The weight while not secured to the door may make it harder if not impossible, because it could cause the microchip cable to snap out - should break the cable, but it may.3. NO CLUE why it says "for apartments"There must be an existing hole in your door for a peep holeEven if your landlord allows it, I had friends in my old generation complain it is triggered if any one (or dog) walks down the hallway and back. This is seriously "CCTV" tech THERE IS NO APP. Just the memory inmonitorLong run, best thing about it.I've been living with endless different smart home/cameras, ALL with DIFFERENT problematic apps along with wifi adding a whole nother level of craziness just to use(FInal note if you get it and like it, buy a 4 pack of Energizer LITHIUM ION BATTERIES. It was $14 for 4 batteries, but they last forever (almost) and way less than a tenth of the weight of normal batteries.Issues will more likely apply with the whole unit each time you have to change batteries. The lithium will lessen opening and squirming what will be probably the life of the unit. It's also Amazon &can return for 30 days. Mine is in and working, so expect I will happily keep it.The price is amazing low when compared to other similar.

This "digital doorbell" fails to mention that it only works if you have an actual peephole, a hole in your door that the little ribbon can go through to connect to the other side. It is not wireless by any means, and both indoor and outdoor piece need to be connected to each other in order to function. Other than that, the instructions provided are very unclear, and the writing is so tiny, it is extremely hard to see. Lack of clear directions, a bag of screws is provided, 3 different lengths, the instructions say screw the screws into the holes on the outdoor device, but doesn't tell you which screws, then when I tried, I had an issue with one side, the screw would not go down as far as the other side. Then, there's the battery compartment, I inserted 4 AAA batteries, which would not stay in. They kept popping out of place and falling all over the floor, no matter how much I made sure they were in place, there is something that is not holding them and popping them all right out. I am not impressed by this device, and I am unable to use it as I do not have a hole in my door. I would not recommend.

This is a great idea because it has motion detection and records video but it only capture 90 degree angel. Would be great if they made improvements to view 180 degree.
