I will be projecting in a couple of weeks in a dining hall where the entire west end is a glass wall (with no shades or curtains), so there is a lot of ambient light - especially after our noon lunch!I received the projector, unboxed it (it was well packed, including two batteries for the remote), powered it up and was rewarded with a nice bright display. (After powering up, wait about 20 seconds for the full brightness. Also - you can make it even more bright and increase contrast and sharpness through the on-screen menus.)Very basic adjustable feet allow fairly limited vertical/tilt movement of the projector. You may need to use books or other objects if you need it aimed more upwards or downwards.Keystone corrections worked well. At different vertical angles of the projector, I was able to use the digital keystoning to get the image squared up with no problems. (I use a portable projector stand which allows me to pan and tilt the stand and projector easily.)Optical zoom and focus worked well - I tested and got about a nice 9-foot-wide display on a screen with the projector located about 15 feet back from the screen. Based on my very quick and rough testing, for about every 3 feet of horizontal displayed data on the screen, you need the projector to be about 5 feet from the screen.I used an HDMI connection to my laptop as the source, and got very good, clean and sharp displays.Back to the brightness - I tested this in our dining room at 1 PM where the entire wall behind the projector was glass with no drapes or other shading, and the weather was clear and very sunny. The picture was quite clear and definitely bright enough for my audience in a couple of weeks.I am keeping the box, as it is a good size for carrying the projector - otherwise I would need to get a padded bag to carry it.The projector itself is quite light and easy to pull out of the box one-handed and set on the projector stand or table.

I had to modify my ceiling mounting bracket to match the holes, but that's to be expected. Very happy with the picture quality. I have a 105 inch screen and it fills it nicely with very clear images. The set up is very simple and the adjustments are easy. It is much quieter that my last one which is a real bonus when a movie gets quiet. All in all, for the price, this is a bargain.

The clarity and brightness of this projector is just excellent, even when using in a room with the lights on. Fan noise is minimal compared to my previous $100 projector.The reason for the 4 stars is that the speaker is crackling and seems to be broken right of this box, which is strange for a new unit. However, I use a soundbar connected via aux cord so I was able to solve for that issue.

El proyector ofrece buena imagen nítida y brillante. Los colores se ven muy bien incluoso en lugares iluminados. Lo único que no me gustó es que el sonido no es muy bueno y no trae entrada para USB, sólo micro USB y hay que comprar un adaptador pero eso no es problema. El proyector vale la pena. If you want to watch blu ray 3D movies, you'll need compatible DLP shutter glasses after connecting an HDMI cable from your blu ray 3D Player (PS3 with update for blu ray 3D). On the projector, there is not a mode to switch off the 3D effect to go into 2D, so that will depend on each disc. If it's a 3D only disc, it's only going to project with a double image that will require the DLP 3D glasses. The cinema Real D 3D glasses don't work at all, I tried it.For the image, I have it set at 100" or so, and the image quality is solid. The image is sharp, though there is a screen door effect when you look at the projected image closer and if you hold your hand into the beam of light, you'll see it. But it still looks great. This is like having a movie theater in your home!While this has a speaker built into it, the sound has no bass and distorts at higher volume, with quiet volume even at the loudest setting. There is a 3.5 mm audio Jack OUTPUT that you can plug into the Viewsonic Projector that will allow you to connect any Computer based speakers that use a headphone jack to project the audible sound. Once it's plugged in, it happens automatically. I listed with headphones on, and the quality is much better than the built in speaker. Will be trying a more powerful bass speaker set up soon.My biggest complaint is the Menu and remote controller menu. I want SUPER ECO MODE so I can get 15,000 hours instead of 5000 hours in Normal mode. That would be 7250 two hour movies that you can watch before the bulb dies out. That's incredible. But the ONLY way I can get it to stay in Super Eco Mode for the slightly dimmer bulb setting (which by the way still looks great with bright whites and nice darkness), is to go into the settings, switch to that mode and then press EXIT on the remote. If you press Menu, adjust the volume, or any other input, it will automatically switch back to NORMAL 5000 hour mode due to terrible programming. And if the input blu ray film is switched, it also switches back to normal mode without you even doing anything. It's ridiculous and 2/5 stars because of it for something so critical to making the projector bulb last 15000 hours as advertised.The box packaging this arrives in is strong and sturdy and well protected. The instructions however, are just pictures, so they are pretty much useless and I figured out the buttons and set up on my own. So in other words, just a "quick start up guide" instructions that are very lacking.Overall though, I'm very happy and thrilled with this new movie projector. You can also play PS4, PS5, PS3 games on it if you want, as well as regular blu rays, DVDs, and blu ray 3Ds. I haven't tried a UHD disc yet, but the resolution may be affected since this outputs 1280 x 800 aspect ratio depending. Test out the best angle and set up for where you'll project your image. I project it right onto my light cream colored wall and it's perfect. I love it!With TV Manufacturers opting for 4K and 8K these days, they completely abandoned the 3D feature even though there are still studios releasing new 3D blu rays. So this ViewSonic is a very affordable alternative for your blu ray 3D player to display 3D films (compared to the $1000 to 2000+ models).

Really a very good product with ultimate clarity in this budget

Ich habe lange recherchiert, um in der Preisklasse einen guten Beamer zu bekommen. Dabei bin ich auf den PA503W gestoßen. Die Marke ist mir aus meinem Berufsleben von Monitoren her bekannt, was mich schon Vertrauen aufbauen ließ. Und ich bin nicht enttäuscht worden. Natürlich gibt es immer offene Wünsche. Andere Modelle haben einen oder gleich mehrere Kartenslots, das hat er nicht. Auch kann man keinen USB-Stick anschließen, denn er hat nur eine Mini-USB-Schnittstelle, über die kein Signal eingespeist werden kann. Dafür hat er aber alle sonst heute gängigen Schnittstellen, wie HDMI, VGA, COM und Video über Cinch. Für mich war wichtig, den Amazon Fire-TV Stick anschließen zu können, das funktioniert hervorragend.Die Auflösung von 1024 x 800 (HD 720p) bringt er und er projiziert das Bild vollflächig scharf. Der Trapezausgleich funktioniert in einem großen Bereich. Das Lüftergeräusch, gemessen aus 1 Meter Entfernung beträgt 25-27 dB, ist also auszuhalten. Die Farbwiedergabe kann nach Untergrund, z. B. Tafelgrün eingestellt werden, auch sind die Farben und der Gammawert nachträglich regelbar.Der Beamer wird unter den 10 besten Videoprojektoren genannt, eignet sich aber auch gut für Präsentationen.Ob er 3D-Filme wiedergeben kann, kann ich nicht beurteilen, dazu fehlt mir die zugehörige Technik, das war für mich aber auch kein Kaufargument.Von der Bauform her kann er mit LED-Geräten nicht mithalten. Wen stört, dass das Gerät auch einige Zeit zum Abkühlen braucht, der sollte sich zu LED-Technik hinwenden.Von mir gibt's volle Punktzahl, weil das Gerät alles macht, wofür ich ihn mir zugelegt habe, und ich kann den Beamer nur empfehlen.
