Terrible product. You really get what you pay for with this. It constantly breaks up and causes static. I wasn't able to record my voice for even 10-20 secs before it would break up. Don't waste your money.

Won't work with my Plantronics headset as the plugs/pins are different sizes. Unfortunately none of the documentation (Amazon website or product packaging) stated the size and type of plus/pins work with this unit with and I could not tell what was required until I opened the package.I was able to purchase a 2.5mm Mobile Headset To PC Converter - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000IZCUTQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1and have things up and running. You have to fuss with your sound settings in Windows control panel to get it to work. I had to disable all other speakers and enable this to get it to work. So each time I switch between speakers and my headset I need to make the change in Windows control panel. Would be nice to have an easier way to switch.

Ich benutze diesen Adapter, um an diversen MAC-Rechnern ohne viel Firlefanz externe Kopfhörer und Mikrofone anzuschließen.Natürlich kann man auch direkt einstecken, das ist aber beispielsweise bei einem Imac auf der Rückseite problematisch, und birgt Verwechslungsgefahr, oder bspw. bei einem MiniMac, welcher eingeräumt steht, ist es auch kein Vergnügen, die direkten Mikrofon- und Kopfhörerbuchsen zu benutzen. Aber eine USB Verlängerung bzw. einen USB Hub hat man meist bereits auf seinem Arbeitsplatz zu liegen.Die Funktionalität ist unter SnowLeopard wunderbar. Ca. 3-4 Sekunden nach dem Einstecken wird der Sound automatisch umgeschaltet auf diesen Adapter. Somit kann man ganz unkompliziert ein Headset anschließen, telefonieren, skypen, oder Musik hören, ohne andere zu stören. Ist die Soundkarte unter Skype mal eingeschaltet worden, klappt es fürderhin automatisch. Karte abziehen - interne Geräte aktiviert. Karte einstecken - Soundkarte ist nun das Ausgabegerät. Man muss nichts umstellen, nichts abschalten, keine Settings verändern. Klasse.Ein weiterer Vorteil für das MacBook: schließt man externe Lautsprecher oder Kopfhörer über diesen Adapter an, kann der interne Verstärker nicht mehr beschädigt werden (was eine teure Reparatur zur Folge hätte). Macht man hingegen per Kurzschluss bspw. den Adapter kaputt, so ist angesichts des moderaten Preises nicht viel in den Brunnen gefallen.Ob die Soundqualität besser ist als über die internen Verstärker . . . ? Ich bilde mir das ein, aber es könnte auch Selbsttäuschung sein. Zumindest ist der Sound aber in Ordnung. Für mich ein perfektes Produkt, kompakt, robust, und funktionabel ohne Schnickschnack und Einstellungen (gilt zumindest für Mac ab OSX 10.5).Wer guten Sound auf Stereoanlagen abspielen will, wird sowieso den optischen Ausgang der Mac-Geräte benutzen, und kann sich darüber freuen, dass mit dieser Soundkarte keine Klinkenstecker mehr umgesteckt werden müssen, wenn man die Skype-Konversation nicht über die Surround-Anlage wiedergeben will. Adapter rein - Ton auf dem Adapter; Adapter raus - Ton wieder zurückgestellt auf die internen Ausgänge. Einfacher gehts nicht.
