Purchased as a Christmas gift for my husband. He really loved it. He really liked the look and feel of the axe. The blade is sharp and could be used to chop whatever he needs it for. This is a nice addition to his collection.

This axe is super lightweight. I didn’t realize how light it would be when I picked up the package… so then I was afraid of the quality. HOWEVER, upon unboxing, the axe was sharp and it looks SHARP — as in nicely crafted, neatly handled, the blade was even oiled nicely and comes with a nice cover.Because it is cold where we live, my husband doesn’t want to throw it and have it fall in the snow and make the blade weak — I’d imagine though, that being so lightweight, it would be easy to throw.I don’t know though — I feel like this would be better as decoration or a gift because it was crafted so beautifully. I can say that it took a while for the axe to come, but I can see why because the craftsmanship from the package to the axe itself is all 100%!

I was hopeing the beard would be a bit longer, however it's a nice axe. The wood is very light and seems pretty solid and durable. The leather wrap gives good grip but doesn't get hung up in the hand.It is forward heavy, the head weighs the entire thing forward, however it still flys and swings well. Overall the weight is medium light.Blade came slightly sharp not really keen though.The leather cover is a nice touch.Gotta say the only real reason I'm knocking a star off is because this is incredibly overpriced. $65 at the time of this review, seems double what it should be.

I like the look of this, but the blade is chipped in the center. It’s pretty lightweight and comfortable to hold, but I would be hesitant to use it for something other than small sticks. The leather adds a nice touch, just wish it wasn’t chipped. Blade doesn’t seem very sharp.

This throwing axe exceeded my expectations in every way; nothing about this axe is cheap and it looks gorgeous. The leather blade sheath is soft and feels and smells high quality, with a simple riveted band that snaps into place to secure it. The blade is sharp and the steel is thick, especially where it fastens to the handle. I really like the little details all throughout the construction of the axe, the shaping of the metal head, the rawhide lace wrap not only looks awesome but feels great in the hand. The wooden handle is perfectly smooth and has beautiful coloring, I can’t wait to see what this will look like when it has some wear on it.The quality and craftsmanship of this axe make it a great decorative piece for sure; as for an actual throwing axe, outside of launching this at my wooden fence, I don’t have somewhere to immediately test it. What I can say is the axe is well-balanced for throwing, with the center of gravity being exactly 2” from the Axe Head, it feels good in the hand, and the blade is sharp and will no doubt bite. There’s no comparison between something like this and my SOG throwing tomahawks, the SOGs are just somewhat functional, stamped metal whereas you can tell this axe was lovingly designed and crafted. It’s almost too nice looking to throw though. You could make a really cool coat of arms using this axe and a similarly colored wooden shield. This is a beautifully made, well-balanced throwing axe that looks straight out of the God of War games. Kratos would approve.

Very authentic looking, wonderful for decoration or ceremonial purposes. Looks right out of a museum.The leather wrap is well done and maybe just needs some oiling to keep it from drying out and some weathering for authenticity.The shape of the blade is darn near perfect, not very sharp out of the box, but easily sharpened if you need to. The head is fixed to the haft by a single metal wedge, so not the best but this is easily remedied as well if you intend to use it for actual bushcrafting. Its proportions are certainly up tot he task.Lovely axe and as I said very authentically styled. The provided edge cover is nice too, but not very period-appropriate but nice to have, if nothing else for safety.
