Audun is a small village in what is now the Lorraine provence of France and was the first pottery set up by the Boch members of the family. The small French village of Audun, where the Boch family first established their pottery, is the inspiration for this pastoral dinnerware pattern. In fact, Villeroy & Boch introduced the Audun collection to commemorate the company's 250th anniversary. Depicting a rural French scene in black and white with yellow accents, this 10-ounce fine china sugar bowl coordinates with the other similarly colored Audun patterns.
The sugar bowl's farm scene of oxen and a hay wagon is based on a copper engraving from the turn of the last century. Uniquely shaped, the straight sides of the bowl slant inward toward the top, then flare out in a yellow band highlighting a black laurel wreath. A wreath of flowers adorns the domed lid, which culminates in a peaked yellow knob. Dressy enough to keep only for formal gatherings, Audun Ferme also makes everyday dining a fine occasion. Imported from Luxembourg and Germany, Audun pieces are vitrified for durability and are safe for dishwasher and microwave. --Ann Bieri

This is a gorgeous and slightly extravagant addition to the Audun teapot. No one I know takes sugar, but it looks good!
