Years ago I read they were going to remake this old style camera, but was disappointed with how small it was going to be. After seeing it pop up on Amazon I got it as a birthday gift for a friend. They absolutely loved it and everyone wanted to play with it. The small size actually makes it easy to travel with and pack away. It is so much fun to turn the handle to take videos and it’s so simple and fun to work. The photos are the same quality as a basic phone these days. I think I’m going to give everyone one for Christmas. So much fun to use and a great functional camera!

It does take pictures, and it looks like a TLR (twin lens reflex), but I would say it is useful as a toy.I bought this camera, and I figured for the price it was a toy. And that is an appropriate rating. The Chuzhao camera is one of the weakest cameras I've ever used. It is as bad as the original Raspberry PI 5mp camera. The pictures taken have no EXIF information. While I didn't expect much information to be recorded, I was surprised that no information was recorded. I shoot with different cameras, and at least having the camera name recorded in the EXIF information allows me to organize the files. While the images are recorded at 12 megapixels, if you look at them, it is clear that they are a smaller resolution, and upscaled to 12 megapixels. Frankly, I would prefer if the camera was honest and it just had the 2 megapixels (or whatever) images, and the camera did no upscaling. For still pictures, you have a choice of color or black & white, and this is it in terms of the choices you can do for stills. If

This is a fun and interesting camera. It's a good novelty and fun conversational piece. It's good for composing pictures the old way like was done with classic medium format cameras, but it's smaller than I expected. It took a little while to get used to where the buttons/features were located because they were cleverly combined with the vintage look of the camera. Overall though, it's a great little digital camera and a great value for the money. It makes a great gift for a photography lover or for a photography student who wants a fun novelty item.

This little camera brings serious nostalgic vibes with its vintage design and viewfinder. It's tiny! It's adorable and fits easily into a pocket, making it super portable for daily life or trips. The autofocus is handy, and it takes 12MP photos and 1080P video, which come out surprisingly decent, especially outdoors in good light, although don't expect smartphone-level clarity.Getting started is straightforward, and it includes a memory card and strap. Connecting to a computer to transfer files is simple. However, using it takes some getting used to. The buttons and the mode dial aren't placed intuitively, and unlabeled controls can be frustrating. While it can record video by holding the capture button for better stability, using the dial mode can result in shaky footage. It feels a bit like a novelty item – fun to play with and capture moments with a unique style, but its quirks and image limitations mean it won't replace a main camera. The plastic feel also detracts slightly from the retro aesthetic.Overall, this camera provides a charmingly portable, old-school photo and video experience, despite its sometimes awkward interface and limited image quality compared to modern devices.

I ordered this Vintage Digital Camera, Retro Camera 12MP Photos 1080P FHD Video Auto Focus, Mini Vintage Camera with 16GB Card Portable Retro Style for Teens, Girls, Boys and Beginners after reading a review on a photography-oriented website.I hardly know where to begin. I guess I'll start with how ubiquitous these cameras seem to be. You'll see them advertised across social media platforms at prices much higher than what it is listed for here. Is it the same camera? Hard to say. In order to know for sure, you'd have to do a side-by-side comparison, and I'm not willing to spend the big bucks to do that. So... what do I think of this camera? It is definitely cute. It's also very small, measuring under 4"x2"x2". It is powered by a non-replaceable rechargeable battery. Although it looks like a twin lens reflex camera, only one lens functions. It produces photos with pixel count of 3456x3456. However, the jpeg compression is very high, resulting in file sizes of right around 400K. That high compression is unfortunate, because it results in photos that fall apart quickly when they are enlarged. The pixel count suggests that this camera might actually have a 12MP sensor, but the quality of the sensor is what you would expect in a toy camera. There is no menu system or, at least, none that I could find. I did find that I could switch between color and monochrome. In playback mode, it seems as though you are given the option to delete an image, but I was not successful in doing so. The movie mode is pretty much pure garbage. Some kids might enjoy this camera, but the really young ones will have trouble figuring out how to use it.I had planned to do a photo series based on using a toy camera. This is not anything new; lots of photographers have done this. Typically, a toy film camera is used. This Chuzhao, though, might be a better choice. It produces square images. It has a waist level viewfinder. It attracts attention. It's the kind of camera that a lot of people will pose for. So long as you don't plan to print larger than, say, 5x7, you probably won't be disappointed. Final verdict? Absolutely not worth it at the highest prices I've seen on social media platforms. A decent impulse buy at the current Amazon price.
