I filled this with pirate related stuff for 5 yr Olds birthday. He loved it. Would be better with a nicer latch.

I love it! It looks so expensive!

I purchased for a little boy whose baby sister is dying from cancer. Read a grief book for children that recommended the child to create a memory box. He loves pirates so I bought this box with the "How I Became a Pirate book" (fits perfectly inside) and the book, "A Memory Box". I would not recommend the box for general play since little pirates are prone to damaging - its sturdy but not that sturdy. It's perfect for storing things and it's beautiful.

Wife wanted a treasure chest for halloween prop. Was just what she wanted. Score!

Its awesome looking. My daughter loves it. Doing her room underwater so like sunken ships jellyfish literally any underwater things . It's a good size for what I want it for. Shes using it for her treasures :)

Oggetto pessteste duo leonessa so no imo, le due insetti in pitche che si trovano in tutte le ferramenta a pochi centesimi di euro. Lo scrigno è effettivamente caro per il prezzo proposto. Però è ampio, più grande di quel che ti aspetti. Le decorazioni sono esattamente come nella foto presentazione. Certamente la qualità non è da artigianato, ma da grossa ditribuzione, però ha fatto la sua figura e chi l'ha ricevuto ne è stato contento.

Nice box. A little on the flimsy side for the price. The wood is thin and handles too. for show only, not for actual use. I was expecting it to be a little heavier set for over $50.

This was a High School graduation gift for our grand son. We put silver dollars in it. He was beyond thrilled. I thought it would have been made of heaver wood, but no matter. He loved it. So I am thrilled also. Thank you Cletis Wray

I sent it back. I was okay paying more money for an authentic looking pirate chest for my child but when it arrived it was do cheaply made, I was disappointed. It looked great but only as a decorative piece. I went with the kids Melissa and Doug pirate chest. It was a better deal and very cute and durable.

Pros:- Beautiful, as long as you don't look too hard- Very lightweight- Convenient size (holds letter-sized paper perfectly)Cons:- Cheaply made of what looks like stained, very thin strips of balsa wood- Does not look durable (though I'm a careful adult owner, so mine hasn't been damaged)- Overpriced for the qualityI loved the look of this prop miniature pirate chest, which I bought to hold cards and small gifts at my wedding, but to be blunt with you, it's of pretty cruddy quality. At first glance, it's a striking decorative piece, with somewhat antiqued real metal hardware and what at first appears to be artful distressing. If you look at it for any longer than a few seconds or handle the chest at all, though, you'll quickly realize how flimsy it is. I'm pretty sure it'd just outright shatter if I accidentally dropped it or stubbed my toe on it. It probably isn't durable enough to give to a young child, and it's got rough, unfinished edges, so it probably isn't the most kid-safe.That's not to say I don't like it. I like it fine, and it worked nicely for the purpose I bought it for. My only regret is that it was about $50, and you can buy a full-size, solid-wood chest of much higher quality and a similar pirate chest look for only few hundred dollars, and I don't think this little toy of a chest even comes close to a quarter or eighth of that value. Otherwise, it looks great as, say, a set prop, especially from a distance or in photography.
