The legs break off at the bottom if you screw them into a board or concrete . The spinner rotates and causes movement in the legs which causes them to break . I have contacted seller for replacement legs and they are getting g a quote for legs as I am out of warranty . I used the honey spinner for one season. I have a couple of hives .Update : the vendor is willing to ship two extra legs at a total cost of $25 . I am waiting for legs to show up.

Inexpensive, but flimsy. Lightweight metal for the can including the legs. Not sturdy. Unbalanced.

I started with a manual spin extractor but my shoulders and arms could only work well for a short time. This electric powered motor will spin the basket that will hold 8 super frames in radial form-spin and it extracts from both sides at the same time, while the 4 deep, hive body frames sit so you have to spin the one side then you have to turn that hive body frame around to get the other side of the frame extracted. The motor has a dial to adjust the speed and a large emergency stop button. The top safety covers need to be in place before the basket will turn. I have used this extractor for many pounds of honey without any problems. So far, so good and this is a good price at the time I purchased my unit.

I am a novice beekeeper but after one season of manually trying to harvest honey, I gave up and decided to get an extractor. This was easy to put together, able to secure to solid ground to be more sturdy and works great. I spun it as fast as I could and let the handle go until it slowed down a couple times and then flipped the frames and did it again and they were perfectly drained. In fact, it took me more time to scrape the wax capping off my frames then it took to spin it! Amazing. As for bottling the honey, I think it is a two person job. I used a canning funnel to help with the mess and the honey flows quickly so in order to stop it, I should have had someone to close the latch and hold it while switching jars (I managed to do it myself but it was a bit sticky. The last pint or two were removed by me tilting the extractor and having my son catch which was not too big of a hassle. As far as cleaning, it was easy and simple.I saved hours and tons of hassle with this extractor. Would definitely buy it again!!

This is a decent machine at a good price. I made several modifications that improved function.First, wrap the spindle cushion assembly (that holds the red star-shaped rubber coupler) with electrical tape... this will prevent uncoupling during vibrations that can occur at the beginning of the process. I do not believe that the taping will interfere greatly with the intended dampening function.Next, purchase and install metric M8 Knurled Clamping Nuts (Amazon B0987XQ8GQ) and/or Threaded Ball Knobs (Amazon B019RATXWY), replacing the nuts securing the top frame... eliminating the need for wrenches when cleaning.I use a 1/2 inch plywood base 4 foot square, or more, with carriage bolts that attach to the three legs using wing nuts. Storage is easy when not in use. When first spinning new frames, there can be vibrations due to imbalances. If this is the case, just use a lower initial spin setting. After the honey spins out of the combs, the vibrations will usually ease. It can help to spin each side twice to eventually allow a faster spin speed. The units legs are placed so lifting one leg allows tilting to better drain contents through the drain hatch. It would be nice to have a braking device, but that would add a major cost.Cleaning is easy with a pressure washer, but it is not a necessity.

Ok, had to select and order quick to open frames in a queenless honey bound hive. The prime system got it to me before the replacement queen. That was great. As a hobbiest, the 2 frame at a time and hand crank was the choice. A little nervous it might be ...crap. (spoiler - it wasnt)Big well protected (but delivered upside-down) box was on the porch. Ok, no damage externally and WELL protected internally. (5*)Neatly packaged small parts and stand legs ( 5*)Instructions were (shockingly) easy to read and folow! (5*)Fasteners were 4 short, 4 medium, 4 long bolts, 12 star washers, 12 flat washers, 6 plastic knobs. Uh-oh... are there missing fasteners? Do i need to find some crazy special bolts??Nope. Settle down, they INTENTIONALITY included extra and listed them in the parts count. Whew!Assembly WITHOUT tools was easy. (5*) Directions clear. Only "choice" is how tall the unit should stand. I chose medium... then at the end redid to the tallest setting (which should allow any size bucket seive to fit under it. Then made sure it was standing straight and using a 14mm, tightened everything down.Tested it out and... its SMOOTH. Easy to crank and looks easy to clean. (5*)Only "design" issue is the crank does not free wheel. When you spin it up to speed, the hand crank lever will spin with the frames. Not a big deal, but one thing to note. It could whack a child that spins it up, lets go and stands there.Overal, a good purchase.

Nice to have this small task extractor. The only inconvenience that handle does not have a free run. Its gear connected straight to the shaft.

Très bon, arrivé en bon état, de qualité attention, la manivelle ne va que dans un sens lorsqu'elle tourne et n'a pas de frein ou de dispositif qui ferait qu'elle ne tourne pas en même temps lorsque l'extracteur tourne

100% happy. Bolt down on 3/4 ply base. I use a dewalt 1/2 variable speed drill (7amp). That way you can control the rotation speed.
