I had my Elderberries in water for over 2 months trying to root...... Nothing.... not even a callus... I have about 40 cuttings in a 3 gallon bucket in the greenhouse (in NC). Its been cold so I try to heat the greenhouse with a small electric heater, which keeps it about 55 degrees at night, but expensive to operate. I got this heating mat and put the bucket on it, set it for 85 degrees as Im trying to heat the water. The next morning, after abut 15 hours, the cuttings had many white calls bumps all over the place i the stem that was under water. The next day, I had roots on many of the cuttings as shown in the pic. A few had a lot more roots than that but I had already planted those. The heat on the pad seems to be from edge to edge, corner to corner and very even heat. Love this little mat!!!! works fantastic!

It works great the heat is more towards the front so if you place thermometer in the center, the plants towards the connection/front will be warmer then the plants in the rear just by a couple degrees
