So, I know that you get what you pay for, but the reviews seemed pretty in the middle as to how this fishing magnet is. I personally haven't caught anything yet, and I feel like some of the promotional material if not all of it, gives you false hope on actually catching something. There is though the very real possibility that I have had absolutely no luck and need to keep trying it, time will tell. A good way to test out your magnet is to try it on different metal objects and see how it sticks to them, but be careful with anything that has a nice paint job on it in fear of possibly scraping whatever you're testing it on. The line it comes with is garbage and had to replace it after my third time out. As for the gloves, these are just for minor protection and are extremely sub-par, very underwhelming, does not protect you from getting wet (but come on, you're dealing with water lol), and you will need to buy some better ones if this is going to be a real big hobby for you. To go back to the line, you might be better off buying a separate magnet on its own and then buying a much sturdier rope/line, and the thread lock you can buy separately as well. At this point, I think you are buying the novelty of the item and the case, which the case itself is actually really nice and sturdy. Where they show you the promotional material for this product by the company in the video section, you see a guy catching all sorts of stuff and you think to yourself that you can replicate it, maybe. With that said, go to areas not visited by other people as much and have low expectations even with a nice magnet fishing set, and who knows, maybe one day you'll get lucky, it is a novelty hobby after all, but I still have fun. My advice is to price check the individual items before buying a set, that may be cheaper.

So much fun with my family seeking treasure with the magnetic fishing pole. We have used from, the Kayaks, off docks, bridges and walking along the shore. We dropped our fishing pole in the lake, and retrieved using our magnetic fishing pole. Your hands will get wet when pulling the rope back in. Bring a towel with you if using in a kayak to dry your hands. So far we haven't found any big treasures, but we will keep looking. The hook is very sharp so be careful. The gloves provided do provide protection from sharps, but still a potential to get cut if not using caution. I have never been cut using the magnetic pole when bringing up pieces of metal. The magnetic is VERY STRONG. It won't bring in a car, but very capable of bringing up heavy pieces of metal. It comes in a handy, sturdy case, and very portable. Still looking for that big treasure. This looked like a great kit and it is BUT I was trying to get a piece of roof tin out of my pond that was only about 10 feet away laying on the bottom from the Hurricane. The magnet would not hold on enough to pull it out. We used the treble hook to flip over a couple time and then tried the magnet again and it still wasn't strong enough to hold. So treble hook to the rescue. So sad. I was very excited to have this magnet. I will probably return.

It's a pretty good price for what it comes with. It works as described and when I got it stuck to the metal frame of the bridge I was fishing off of I couldn't get it off! Pulled with all my weight and strength and wouldn't budge. I ended up having to use a giant branch as leverage to get it free. It holds like no other. Very easy to put together and the weight is ideal for throwing. It's definitely a quality product.

Mine arrived rusted and the rope wet and mildewy. Replacement unit is new, and seems good. Will do a follow up review when I can.

Me gusta el material el largo de la cuerda el empaque tooodo genial lo único que no pude pescar en el río nada más grande q enzuelos y corcholatas. Esto se debe a que las arena del mar y ríos en veracruz es rica en hierro, así q lo aventaba y lo primero q agarra es hierro, varias veces los saque super lleno de hierro y algunas veces sentí q se pegaba a algo pero al primer jalón más fuerte se despegaba, necesito uno con más potencia comprare el que más potente y lo comentare ,pero este articulo en especial a mi no me sirvió, es bueno pero por las corrientes el hierro y demás solo puedo darle 4 estrellas porque no es culpa del iman que la arena de veracruz este llena de hierro
