Waxed Sewing Thread and Heavy Duty Needles

If you need a set of large, heavy duty needles for doing heavy stitching, this is a good kit to consider. The needles seem to be of adequate quality and the price is not bad for what you are getting. The price seems to be on par with what the big box stores are charging for similar products. These needles are great for leather work, upholstery work or other situations where you may need a large needle, such as repairing a tent when camping. The curved needles are really handy if you do any kind of upholstery work and the included thread seems heavy enough for most repair jobs.I like the clear plastic container that helps to keep everything organized. It's not super high quality or anything, but it is good enough to get the job done, and it makes the kit easily portable, so you can take it with you, for situations such as camping. It's just a really useful kit to have on hand in case of emergency.

I was really looking forward to trying these embroidery needles for my amigurumi projects—sewing is my least favorite part, so anything that makes it easier is a win. These needles turned out to be a lot thinner than I expected, which makes sense now that I remember they’re embroidery needles (and I know very little about embroidery). The eye holes are pretty small, so threading yarn might be a bit of a challenge, but I really like the length of the longer needles. They’ll be especially helpful for stitching front to back on larger pieces. The needles feel sturdy and won't snap under pressure, which I appreciate. The curved needles are thinner than I’d prefer, but I think they’ll still work fine for light finishing touches. Overall, they’re not quite what I imagined, but they’ll still come in handy.

Don't you just love it when a product you ordered seemingly screams, "I deserve 5 stars"? This VONEEDL Heavy Duty Sewing Needle kit did just that even before I opened the nice zip closure pouch it came in. Then came the big surprise: a sturdy plastic case that's a perfect size. It fits inside my regular sewing kit. Plus a few of the items in that kit belonged in this kit and there was room for them. I got the items I needed and I'm better organized at the same time.I know how to sew, but it isn't something I need to do often. In the past I've tried to get by with the regular needles I had even though it was obvious that bigger needles and stronger thread would help me do a better job. What can I say? I'm a guy.I recently had a seam come undone on a pair of favorite shoes. I decided I needed the bigger needles and this kit looked awesome for the price. The kit arrived and the shoes were fixed in under 15 minutes. They now look like there was never a problem. I showed them to my wife who said, "I guess you're pretty proud of yourself." I told her I was. Then she said, "Almost anyone could do a good job with a kit like that." Yeah, yeah ... she was joking. Or was she? Hard to say. The kit is pretty cool. I'll give her that.I'm very impressed with this item. I highly recommend it. I'd give it more stars if I could.

This is a fantastic set of sturdy upholstery- or anything - sewing needles. I've never before seen a 6" long straight needle and here the longer ones range from 6" to 4", and the shorter ones from 3" to 1 3/4", plus a few curved ones.. They come in a flat plastic box and there are 7 spools of thick, colored and waxed threads, 2 thimbles, a threader, a seam ripper and a flat metal piece I've never seen before - possibly another kind of threader. I haven't used thimbles forever - because I lost them and never replaced - but now can use them again instead of always have to find a hard surface to push the needle when sewing something tough or thick, The waxed threads are super useful for repairing the armrests of my leather recliner - no more doubling and tripling thinner threads and getting a tangled result. I mostly like the various sizes of the straight needles - never really learned how to use the curved ones - from the longest to the shortest one. These days I just find it easier to use a larger needle when hand sewing anything so am really happy with this needle set. Would recommend it for anything suitable, not limited to upholsteries!

I am a retired engineer and a professional costumer/cosplayer now. I have done leather work for over 40 years. And I have everything from a heavy saddle/boot sewing machine, to a smaller machine good for pouches and shoes ect... And I have lost more leather sewing kits than I can count. When I travel to cons or ren fairs ect... I had an emergency craft kit that I take with me. And its great... until an heavy leather needle pokes through the side of the bag and damages something. Or stabs my wife or I.So the first thing I want to talk about this kit is... the case. It is low profile and flat. It holds the needles, and everything else and fits neatly in my travel craft bag. But it also fits neatly in a medium to large belt pouch or a messenger bag ect...If you are a hiker/camper... it takes up little space and has all you need for emergency tent/tarp repairs. Even show/boot repairs. It has several different colors of waxed 'thread' (it is not sinew, fake or real. It is a waxed thread, that while it seems to be thicker than average, it is still thread and not sinew. It would have been nice if they included a small spool of sinew). So you have options to make things look great.I would recommend this to anyone who does costuming, leather work, camping, hiking, ect... Does it have everything you will ever need... no. But it has things you will need in an emergency. And that is what is important. It is a decent kit for the money. I have used it to repair a canvas pirate flag. A leather couch. A set of blacksmith/farrier apron. And a cloth brocade chair. This kit goes with me anywhere my craft travel kit goes.
