Tips:1. Keep the thinset out of and around each one. They snap off cleaner and no hard thin set to clean up later.2. Snap off the same direction of the grout line.3. If it does not snap off clean and you can't remove the plastic try this: You don't want to risk chipping and edge, so take a piece of wire like piano wire or spring wire. Hold it with plyers and heat it with a torch or something to get it red hot. Slide the wire down the groute line and melt the plastic. Works every time for me. I had two out of over 500 that had an issue like that.Ordering from Amazon for this item was much easier than shopping around town and prices are the same as in the store.The fun part is snapping those off the next day. They fly off and reveal a well placed tile with zero lippage. Just stay consistant with your thin set and you'll look like you have been tiling for years.

We are tiling our bathroom floor ourselves. As a center feature, we used wood-look plank tiles cut diagonally. The cement board base isn’t very smooth and we were worried our diagonal design wouldn’t turn out well. The Vortex Tile Leveling System made the job a snap. Provides the perfect grout spaces, no lippage, and level at every angle.
