I got these after returning some open radio walkie talkies that was catching signals from some weirdos, I love that they only communicate with each other but the sound quality is really bad, has some other functions thay the kiddos like to play with like games and voice changer.

I looked at sooo many different sets of walkie talkies and none seemed to have the features I was looking for. I LOVE this set. They’re so fun for the kids, the added features make it feel like a little phone. They’re sturdy and have some weight to them. I do wish they were rechargeable but the battery life seems to be great so far. The flash light feature is awesome & bright! The sound isn’t super crisp or clear but you can still hear each other well.We haven’t tested how far the range will work but we haven’t had any issues while using them around the house. It’s on a closed channel which is great and one of the main features I was looking for.These are definitely more for play and more of a toy than a high tech walkie but they’re PERFECT for kids of all ages.They love that it feels like a little phone and has an actual functioning screen. The features are great, you can control the volume and so far they’ve been very popular in our house.Definitely Recommend!

These are fun & safe walkies my kids (6 & 3) love! The games you can play 1 walkie or 2 walkies on, stickers you can send each other and clear sound over them. Only thing is they turn off after a little bit of time to save battery. Which is good and bad.

The walkie-talkie functionality is slow and awkward. You hold the button down, wait a second or two for a beep, then start talking; you can't just press and talk. The reason I picked these over other brands was the games and messages features, but they cause more problems than they are worth. If you are playing a game or sending a message on one and the other one radios over, it cancels what you were just doing and you have to start over. My kids were getting so upset with each other because they couldn't use any of the other functions because their sibling would say something over the radio and it would kick them out.

These are very nice walkie-talkies. I would say they fall into an older kid age range. They are not as straightforward as the one button type of walkie-talkies. However, I think that’s appealing for the older child. It feels a little more like a phone and it’s more interesting to engage with. They are made extremely well. The materials are sturdy and they don’t feel cheap at all. They sit comfortably in the hand and are large enough size they aren’t going to lose them. The range is good. We have enjoyed playing with these around the house and yard. I have found that the audio is clear. I would highly recommend this set. It is an excellent walkie-talkie option manufactured by VTech that’s not too kiddie looking.

These things are great to give your kids the walkie talkie experience without exposing them to any local creep with a radio. They use a band between 2414 and 2474Mhz with a max rf transmission of 0.01W._____________________Update:These will not penetrate the exterior walls of my house. They work fine inside even with doors closed, but the insulation is enough to block the signal and the devices lose connection. Kinda bummed, wanted the kid to be able to play walkie talkie while I'm out in the close, but detached garage. My router has much better range from inside the house but doesn't cover the whole yard, I may look for a wifi based system to maintain privacy for my desired use. These are still a good secure kids option for playing in the yard or inside, just not both at the same time._____________________They are about the size of a cordless landline, but a little shorter and wider (Only one can transmit at a time so they function as walkie talkies and not a short range phone). Volume adjustment does not get quiet as I'd like at the low end but they are plenty loud. Voice quality is fantastic, super clear thanks to the digital transmission. Slight delay. Visual indication on the device showing if it connects or not to the other while trying to transmit.Has a few simple games, if the other unit transmits while you are playing a game, it rings like a phone and you can choose to deny the transmission and keep gaming or answer it and close the game.
