I ended up returning these but that's my own fault. The ratchets just won't work well with my trailer. but they are well made. Appear rugged, and the straps are really nice and would serve well. it's a choke style strap with a tough sleeve protector that would have been great for tying down a vehicle. Just couldn't make the ratchets connect the way my trailer is configured. If the ratchets will work for you then these are a good value.

I was tired of crawling under my old classic trucks . . but am way more tired of checking the load binders every few miles (it seems) . . . although they seem too work . .I don't like how they never get really "tight" . . and I don't want to put a ton of pressure pulling my wheels "outwards" as the instructions say to use them. Vulcan videos show to use them at 10 / 2 positions and pull DOWNWARDS . . I see many putting them through their wheels. Most of my wheels are either forged or customer powder coated so I don't want to put the straps through the wheels. Hopefully I am just overthinking . . and will update when I use them on longer road trip. Quality seems good, would be great to offer option of different style "hooks" for the ratchet part. Overall I am happy thus far.

After years of struggling with trying to tie down our various cars, I can't believe how magical these tie-down are! We have a 14' open aluminum Trailex trailer with attachments points front and rear. We have quite a number of classic Porsches, ranging from 1954 to 2011, and each one required hours of figuring out the best arrangement of attachment (lying underneath attaching to greasy axles, and so on) with our brand name 3" tie downs.... because most of the cars would not accept the metal ring through the wheel openings.I looked into all kinds of alternatives, basket style, etc etc, but the restrictions of our trailer tie points and especially rubbing on the very low body styles of our cars made everything frustrating to impossible. I recently trailered our 1965 Porsche 356 coupe alone, and was able to attach the Vulcan tie downs in literally minutes... it was remarkable. I unpacked the box, watched a youtube instructional video, and hey presto - I fed the free end of the 2" tie down through the wheel, slipped it through the ring, cinched it up, fed it through the ratchet and a couple of pulls and voila! SO simple even a old granny like me could do all 4 wheels in 20 minutes! Best yet, this system will work on every car we own (or wish we owned) with the exception of one that has honeycomb type show wheels.I stopped a few times on a 9 hour trip to check and cinch, and all was perfection. The unloading process was just as easy. I am in love. Safe, strong, good looking, great quality, compact, simple, SO easy to use... who could want more? I can't believe my husband and I have been arguing, struggling and sweating our you know what's off every time we had to load a different car.... for over 10 years! Buy these now. They are worth every penny (and a killer value), AND you might just stay married too!

I have an 18' aluminum trailer that I use to transport our ATV's & UTV's to a dealership that's approximately 75 miles from our house. I was using typical store bought ratchet straps for securing the equipment on the deck & I never had any issues using the smaller tie downs. I saw these on Amazon & decided to step-up to a larger tie down especially for the UTV's. One thing I thought was a bit peculiar is the fact that the ratchet themselves have no strap material between the ratchet & hook. I'm so use to having maybe 6" of material between the ratchet & hook that this is absolutely new to me. However, the deck on my trailer has flush mount rotating D rings & these ratchets work fantastic with them. The straps & ratchets are well-made, durable, & I've cranked on these babies as much as I could without tearing my trailer up in the process. High quality comes to mind & they have met my every expectation. I believe if you're shopping for quality, durability, & a tie down system that you can rely on, there's no need to look any further because you have found it. For those of you who have stake pockets, my advise is this: 18" soft touch loop straps extension tie down 4500# by Pit Posse sold on Amazon. These straps are designed for motorcycles or ATV's but I personally use them from time to time for the stake pockets so I can hook the ratchet to the strap without trying to hook the ratchet to the stake pocket itself. If you look at the design of the ratchet with hook, it becomes fairly obvious why I chose to use the 18" straps for the stake pockets. I think of it this way: yes you can hook to the bottom of the stake pocket, but if you incur any slack or loss of tension, that heavy ratchet will without any doubt come loose & swing free from the stake pocket. I'd rather have a peace of mind knowing that the clamp is shut on the hook & if the slightest bit of slack occurs, I'll spot it in my mirrors.
