My muffler strap was quite a bit wider than the hole in the rubber. Since it is soft material, it isn't too hard to remove. Otherwise a fantastic solution.

I had to cut out the rubber a bit so the muffler strap hanger fit inside it. Other than that it worked well.

This fit my base model 2003 Chevy Cavalier 2.2L. A couple of tips to make installation a bit more smooth. First, save yourself a lot of time/effort and insert the mounting bolt nearest the front of the vehicle into this bracket before inserting the flat metal piece from the muffler band. Second, the flat metal piece that inserts into the rubber fitting on this hanger fits extremely snug. Apply a lubricant (WD-40) generously to the hanger and the flat piece from the band to aid during installation. Took longer than I thought to install, but the tips above should help you save time where I faltered. Fits the vehicle well, and appears to be well made.

The coat hanger served it's purpose, but it was time to fix it the right way. This part was not the same design as what was on the car (2002 Sunfire), but all the info said it was compatible. It fit just fine on the body side of the hanger, but on the exhaust side the strap going around the muffler did not fit up supper terrific, but worked with a little of "let's bend this a little that way, and that a little the other way" on the strap. Mufflers are likely a little different and probably fits the after market walker muffler just fine. This was to still hold up the original old OEM muffler. It was a little tough to fit that muffler side hanger on the strap into the body side bracket rubber isolator. After a couple of tries I used some dish soap to help it slide on in there (still with a little more effort than should be). In the end, the 5 minute replacement took about a half hour.
