Throttle position sensors measures throttle position through changing voltage and sends this information to the onboard computer. The computer uses this and other inputs to calculate the correct amount of fuel delivered. Symptoms of failure include poor starting, improper automatic transmission converter lockup, engine stumbling, stalling, and or a check engine light. There is no scheduled service for TPS sensors. It worked out pretty well. I didn't like the fact that I had to drill out the holes right to the edge so I can adjust it. 1990 Ford Mustang LX hatchback 5.0
