I've replaced my muffler on my 1998 s10 2.2 liter at least 2 or 3 times with this muffler in less than 10 years. It is quiet like the stock one. It's decent quality, but I don't know why they call it stainless. It rusts just like regular steel. I have since replaced it with a stainless steel Flowmaster 50 series delta flow from Summit racing. Part number 842551. I got the 2.50" in/out and modified some exhaust pipe to fit it. It wasn't that much work. The Flowmaster stainless steel mufflers are actually real stainless. They're about $150-$170 but they last for like 10+ years. I will never buy the Walker one again because the Flowmaster is much better for not too much more money. It sounds better and my truck has a tiny bit more power. I could feel the difference.

I can't speak for longevity since these are probably made from mild steal, but it is super quiet. I chose to weld the pipes together instead of using the clamps.

Exact fit for 99 s10. Got it here 20 less than local with a rebate of 30 on top of that.

I took this to several garages that do stainless exhaust, and they all told me the same thing..........It's NOT stainless! They said one of the pipes might have been, but the rest was definitely not! They even proved it by putting it side by side with another stainless muffler, and used a magnet on each. The magnet barely stuck to the other muffler, but this one attracts it like a piece of iron! What's worse is they're not even very quiet, and get louder the longer you use them! I don't know how they get away with the blatant false advertising. I guess no one is willing to hire a lawyer for the price of a muffler.All I wanted was a replacement stainless muffler that was as quiet as the factory one! Money is not even an object! Is that too much to ask for? Apparently only the automobile manufacturers have the technology? My truck is too old to get a muffler from the dealer, so my exhaust guy told me to get one from the dealer for a newer truck, and they will make it fit mine. He said that was the only way to get a stainless muffler that was quiet like the factory ones.

Save your money - lasted three years and had to be replaced - rotted at the hanger and later broke off at the back of the muffler.
