Did not fit as advertised. I had to go buy adapters and more pipe clamps to make it work.

Fits my 2008 Dakota Laramie Quad 4.7L. This is a 2.5" muffler. My installed exhaust pipes are 2.75". So i bought 2 of these Universal 2.75" ID to 2.5" OD Exhaust Pipe Adapter Connector Reducer Mild Steel https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07G9838Y9/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_EXP1NNNDMMDKB6F8HM1G. I had to cut about 2 inches off where exhaust pipe and tail pipe meet muffler to accommodate reducers. Perfect, since exhaust pipe had small crack there anyway.Previous owner must have installed oversized 2.75 exhaust. 2.5" is stock and preferred. Now truck is noticeably faster from a stand still. This muffler fit in the cavity perfectly. Sounds like a regular vehicle again. I wouldn't try a generic muffler.

Installed on a 2006 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab 4.7L. It is a direct fit. The body itself is bigger than stock, but the pipe coming out either end is smaller making it a direct fit. On some other sites they say the muffler can go on either way. Mine had an arrow and inlet lettering which points towards the engine and it has a weep hole in the bottom rear, so mine could only go on one way to be in the correct position. Easy to install. It just takes a bit of time to clean surfaces of pipe to make sure you have a tight fit.

This is a nice, direct fit muffler. Don't waste time and money on some universal part that requires extra pieces, parts, adapters, extensions and effort to get it to fit.. This is true direct fit. Easy install, and stainless steel for longevity.. This might outlast the truck. Awesome product. I'm a Walker fan.

I bought this to replace the original muffler on my 2005 Dakota Club cab V6. I was worried I would have difficulty mating it to the existing pipes due to the large amount of rust on the old pipe i was leaving on the truck. After removing the old unit, I used some 220 grit sand paper to clean up the mating point on the old pipe still attached to the truck and sprayed a small amount of WD40 to assist in connecting the two.I used a couple of generic exhaust clamps from the local auto parts store and this muffler mounted right in and matched the hanger points exactly. I was able to assemble this and new front resonator by myself in less than 30 minutes. I was surprised at how quiet the exhaust is now and have not had any issues with exhaust leaks at the joints (installed 2 months ago).
