For $35 free shipping it's a no brainer. Fit perfectly, fairly quiet, and built good. Highly recommend for the DIY that has an old truck and can't afford the ridiculous prices muffler shops are now charging. Not there fault. It's Brandon's fault.

This muffler fit perfectly on 2005 silverado reg cab 8ft box. Sounds like oem total length around 29in. My pipe even fit inside on the inlet side for strong welded joint.

Walker 18138 is the universal replacement for my 1998 Chevy 1500 truck and it will work fine.Amazons part picking app on their web site says it does not fit my truck and needs to be reprogrammed so the data is going to not send the wrong parts out to people who needs them in a hurry. This will coat alot of money to both the buyer and the seller and the people paying for the free shipping. I always check cross reference numbers at the parts suppliers before i order so i catch alot of mistakes and their is a lot of mistakes with my truck year and model on the Amazon site. I can't complain about delivery in these difficult times. this part is what i wanted on ordered having check first before ordering.

This is absolutely, 100%, a direct replacement for first generation (1999-2006/2007) Silverado and GMC pickups. The inlet and outlets are offset, both are 2.75” OD, thin wall pipe. This is the Walker, part number 18138.Lots of reviewers gave low-star ratings, and complained because this muffler isn’t a “direct replacement.” This totally is a direct replacement, on certain Silverados and Sierras. The 4.3 V6 uses this muffler, as I’m sure most of the unleaded gasoline motors do. I would think diesel motors would have different mufflers. Again, confirm by measuring the muffler length, as well as the piping diameter entering and exiting the muffler. It replaced my noisy, rotted muffler that made my truck interior shake, and was the cause for me having to turn Spotify up to 40 while at cruising speeds to even hear a bit of music. I’m so relieved. I’ve had LOUD exhausts on cars and trucks throughout my life, but the hole in the muffler on my Silverado was absolutely awful. This isn’t stainless, so adding a coating of high temp spray paint might be a good idea if you live somewhere with high humidity, rain, snow, and/or salt. The muffler has a thin layer of anti-corrosion lubricant on the outside that will heat up and evaporate during the first few uses. This is normal. It can also be cleaned off prior to installation if so desired.Great product and value for the price. As of mid-May of 2020, this muffler is $24 with free and fast Prime Shipping. RockAuto is usually my go to for lowest priced auto parts, but their price for the exact brand and part number was in the mid $40s without shipping, and with shipping, it was $65, and it was going to take 7 days to get to me.I’ll be checking Amazon for auto parts more often!

I installed this muffler to get rid of this idiotic Flowmaster Super 10 (basically one baffle and sounded a lot like open exhaust with no muffler at all) that the previous owner had installed because, although at idle and low speeds the Flowmaster sounded rough and kinda cool, it droned at highway speeds really loudly. It was unbearable. I had to turn the stereo up to jaw-rattling volume just to try and drown out the exhaust drone, with no success. So I installed this Walker muffler to return the truck to OEM sound more or less. It was the same diameter inlet as the factory pipe, so I installed a 2.75" x 2.75" exhaust coupler with 2 2.75" U-Bolt exhaust clamps on the Inlet side, and on the Outlet side, the OEM tailpipe I got from the junkyard for $4 slipped right into the Outlet, which I then installed another 2.75" U-Bolt exhaust clamp on. The muffler did not need any hanger pegs because the tailpipe had 2 of them already for the factory mounting pegs, and the other peg is just before the muffler location on the exhaust pipe leading to the Inlet side.It felt solid after installing the clamps and rubber hangers, and so I started the truck up. No more thunder and growl, just a nice smooth quiet idle. You can hear the engine, but it is much much quieter now. There is no drone whatsoever at any speed. I imagine this is what the OEM Chevy exhaust sounded like when it was new before the previous owner put that stupid Flowmaster Super 10 on it with no tailpipe. I was wondering if the acceleration would change, but now the truck accelerates just as quickly, but feels a lot smoother than before. I love it. Great muffler for about $27.00 with free Prime shipping. Absolutely jaw-dropping value. I could not be happier.

This is an awesome muffler for the price! 10 years ago when I was young and loud I put 2-40 series flowmasters on my truck. After getting older I got tired of listening to the loud exhaust, especially for my neighbors sake since I work night shift and my 04 silverado is pretty loud from a cold start.Anyways, long story short... I was very skeptical of a 30$ universal muffler but I ended up using a magnaflow y-pipe to bring my two exhaust pipes into 1 and then ran directly into the walker. I originally had turn down pipes so I recycled the end off of my flowmaster and welded it on. The exhaust performs wonderfully I can't tell much of a difference from my flowmasters as far as power.. Im sure I lost some but its not noticable. As far as sound goes which is a big plus, this muffler puts off just enough sound to let you know you have a v-8 but it wont wake anyone up or hear over the radio.. strangely, the exhaust seems louder at idle than it does at higher RPMs I dont know if thats because engine noise is drowing it out at that point but anyways I am extremely happy with my purchase and if I had to do this all over again I would order the exact same muffler to replace my noisy ones.

I installed this on my 1994 Chevy K1500 pickup. It's definitely not a hot rod (just a working and hunting truck), and I wasn't looking for a loud truck. Even though Walker also sells a muffler specifically for my truck (part number 21046), this universal one seemed to have the same dimensions and supposedly fit. I had foolishly already recycled the old one (rusted completely through!) so I couldn't compare it side by side, but after installing, I couldn't see any reason why the two weren't identical. The only hiccup I had was determining which end is the inlet. Stamped on the side (much closer to the middle than to either end) is the word "OUTLET". As near as I could tell, the baffles are identical on both sides and one side was a male fitting and the other a female. Ironically, the only way it fit in the truck was with the side labeled outlet on the inlet side...All that said, installation was pretty easy (I replaced the tailpipe at the same time). My truck is quiet again and I think the neighbors appreciate it!
