I ordered these in preparation of storm season in Fl. Sometimes water comes into my lanai when it rains really hard. Not going to soak up a flood, but I put them by my lanai door & they're pretty absorbent. Squeezed them out & let them dry to reuse. Beats using a bath towel! Imagine they would work well for pet pads as well.

These mats are very handy to have when you have a leaky pipe or water where you don't want it.They dry out easily when hung up to dry. I can use them over and over.I recommend these mats. They are functional and great value for my money.

I decided to go full scientist on this:- A fully wet and slightly dripping mat weighs about 18 ounces more than a new dry mat- A fully wrung out mat weighs about 4-1/2 ounces more than a new dry matSo, not quite a pint per mop-and-wring.I've found the mats wring out best if you fold them in quarters the short way, and then twist your way down the folded mat. It takes me seven wrings, about two inches apart. YMMV.The outer layer on the mats starts to loosen with use. The layers are held together with melted dots, and the edges are just cut and left raw. A real hem or melted border would be nice, but of course that would cost a lot more to manufacture.

I have a leak in my basement from a pipe or hose attached to the washer. I tried a much cheaper water absorbing pad, but it didn't work. It was really a glorified flat cotton ball shaped like a pad.It was time to get serious.I bought these and they have been fantastic! Just one placed by the washer soaked up so much water. When I picked up the pad, the area was so dry, I wondered if there was still a leak!I rinsed out the pad under cool running water, squeezed out the excess water, then hung it up to dry. It's ready for another use. These are perfect for leaks you can't fix right away. My plumber won't be available for a few days, but I can still use my washer in the meantime thanks to these pads. Please save yourself the headache and mess of using a ton of paper towels and newspaper when small, wet disasters strike. Buy these and feel like a hero!

These work as I expected. I wanted something that would absorb an occasional water leak, dry out in place (without molding) and work well to absorb a reoccurring leak. These are doing exactly that. If someone steps on them to walk by (basement floor) they don’t cause anyone to slip

Who needs "the quicker picker upper" when you've got these super absorbent pads? An ecologically sound alternative to paper towels that aren't reusable, these pads can pick up major spills, absorb occasional leaks, and can be washed and reused multiple times. More effective than dish drying mats, bath mats, etc. Soak one in a solution of water and alcohol, stick in your freezer, and you have a handle towel to relieve everything from headaches to sunburn to rejuvenating you in hot weather. The list goes on. At about a dollar per pad, it more than pays for itself compared with buying rolls and rolls of paper towels.
