I have replaced the level switch of the sump pump as it failed. Very easy to install and set up. So far it has been running well so I may get another one to have as a spare. Note that it's a 3 wire switch so you get both Normally Open and Normally Closed contacts.

Perfect float switch for my application- keeping a 10,000-gal upright water tank from overflowing when full that is being kept full- from a solar/ battery bank/ inverter- power supply. As of now someone has to keep monitoring the water level visually and then turn off the pump. With this float switch installed in the top of the tank- everything will be on autopilot and when full this float switch will rise up and turn the pump off. Tested it and no problems- it works right out of the box. Great find!

This water level meter works. The whole unit appears to be fairly durable, water tight and made out of non-corrosive material. It has three wires at the end so that you can easily find the right combination for a Normally Open or a Normally Closed circuit, depending on the design of your system. I like this better than some two wire system which requires you to reverse the sensor.

I'm using this as part of an over flow alarm. I've zip tied it to the discharge pipe of a sump pump so that or activates an alarm is the pit over fills. I'm not using the weight. There switch worked the one time I tested it.

I read this to be a float switch for a sump pump not realizing it was only the float. For household sump pumps which most all have a standard plug, this float would require an additional cord (Piggyback Float Switch/Sump Pump Control Cord) (https://www.amazon.com/Piggyback-Float-Switch-Sump-Control/dp/B011SLMUBQ/ref=sr_1_5?crid=2G43N2KJQRH09&keywords=Piggyback+Float+Switch+Cord&qid=1668445820&s=hi&sprefix=piggyback+float+switch+cord%2Ctools%2C115&sr=1-5) which sells on Amazon for $22.99 bringing the cost to $48.98 pretax. Additionally, you would also require a watertight junction box to shield the spliced wires. This is a standard mechanical type of float not a high/low electronic sensor type. For a mechanical float you can get it for about $25 complete plug and float (https://www.amazon.com/PumpSpy-Sump-Tethered-Float-Switch/dp/B093TMRTZZ/ref=sr_1_24?crid=B7V4K2S4VKC4&keywords=water+pump+float&qid=1668446122&s=hi&sprefix=water+pump+float%2Ctools%2C115&sr=1-24).While technically this float could be used for a sump pump, I don't believe the cost, time and effort to implement it is worth it. For other applications such as water levels in storage tanks, rain buckets etc. that might have a built-in power control this float may be good as you can set the on to monitor either a too full or too low condition but again, depending on the set-up may need the piggyback cord to take action.I rated it 2 stars based on the misleading title "Water Level Meter Sensor - Float Switch for Sump Pump" as it is not really functional as a replacement float for a household sump pump however, as previously stated, it might be a perfect for other scenarios.
