Husband always wants this for refrigerator filter. Must work good or he wouldn't have me ordering it again.

Good: Solid, leakproof fit. Filters well. Our city water is good, but this removes all traces of chlorine smell. Evaporating some filtered water in a dish leaves a mineral residue, about the same as with unfiltered water. Seems benign, mostly calcium. Air filter is a drop-in replacement, looks identical to the OEM filter. Very good price.Bad: Flow rate is a third to a half that of the filter this replaced (Home Depot house brand, "HDX"?)Bottom line: The critical test is, of course, how well this thing filters water. It seems to do so pretty well. It has all the critical NSF certifications, and the end product is good, with no chlorine taste and little or no plasticky taste or odor. Plus, the three-pack of water AND air filters costs two-thirds as much as ONE LG-brand water filter. If it weren't for the slow water flow, these would be just about perfect. The slow flow is, however, an issue. I fill a 32 oz. flask frequently, which takes the better part of five minutes. I had been using the Home Depot house brand filters, which are comparable but about a third more expensive, plus I'd thought they'd been discontinued. That turns out not to be the case. This morning I bought an HDX filter and replaced the waterdrop unit that had been in service for about four months. Dramatically better water flow, comparable to that with the old HDX filter that the Waterdrop replaced. So, I'm keeping the HDX filter installed, and my remaining Waterdrop filter is now in reserve in case Home Depot runs out of stock again. Four stars, would be an easy five if the water flow were comparable to the somewhat more expensive HDX filter.

I ordered the Waterdrop Plus LT1000PC for the grand total of 32.39 with tax and shipping. The 1st one lasted exactly 2 1/2 months. At first, the filter had a strong water flow. At the end, It would barely drip and I was forced to install the 2nd filter in the package. I read the product sheet and it says this filter is good for 200 gal. They are supposed to be changed around every 6 mths. There are 2 adults in the home, no visitors or children. I use the water about 2 times a day to fill a tea glass. We do not use much ice. I cannot believe 200 gal. has been used in this short amount of time. The original LG filter that I replaced was still giving a good strong water flow after being in use for WAY OVER 6 months (don't judge). So, I looked up the price of a original LG filter on the LG website. As of today, If I choose auto-ship, I pay 42.69 with tax/shipping every 6 mths. IF this 2nd filter lasts 2 1/2 mths like the 1st, I get only 5 mths use from the both of them. For a little over $10 more I can have the original part and get MUCH MORE use out of it. As for the air filters, they are still in the box. I haven't used them.UPDATE************************************************************************************************************I originally gave 3 stars, but I am changing the review to 1 star. The water from the second filter is down to a very slow trickle. It originally had decent pressure until it didn't. This one lasted only 38 days. That makes 3 mths and 3wks of TOTAL USE for both filters. I have read the other reviews and I saw only one that mentioned a plugged filter (theirs within 3 days). Again, I do not know how much water I used through it, but with what i do use, I should be able to get closer to the 6 month usage that it advertises. There is a disclaimer that states "this may vary dependent on the water condition in your area". I have well water, and with previous Frigidaire filters on my old refrigerator and the original LG filter on my current refrigerator, I had no problems having a strong flow through them way over the 6mth recommended use. I cannot recommend these. I am going to order from LG today. If I have the same results with the new LG filters, I will come back and update this product review and admit it must be my usage or my water source.UPDATE****************************************************************************************************************My LG filter has been going strong for almost 6 mths. It will be time to change it in just a few weeks and I have not experienced any decreased flow from the water dispenser. I love a bargin, but the waterdrop filters are not it.
