Used this filter as a whole house RV water filter. I ordered this filter and a Spiropure brand. Before installing the housing, I checked the fit of both filters and noticed that the Spiropure was a loose fit in the housing. How did I know it was loose? If I shook the housing, you could hear and feel the filter moving around in the housing. How's it gonna filter if water can leak past the top and bottom gaskets?

I have been using these filters for approximately 7 years and I am very satisfied. However on this last order of 2 filters the boxes were beat up pretty bad. I'm surprised who ever shipped these let them go out in this poor condition.

I do not have the scientific equipment to measure the particulate content or any volatile organics coming out of the output of this filter. With that being said, I can say that the water inside motorhome is clean and taste-free. I use this filter as a secondary filter after taking out larger particles with a less sophisticated filter at the water faucet for the motorhome. The lifespan of this filter element will obviously vary with how much water you flow through it. I put a date on the outside of the canister where the filter element is installed. I will say that my previous filter element was the same type and brand and was gray on the outside after 6 months of full-time use for two people. To me, this means that it was still taking out additional items from my water that I did not want in there. Anybody using a filter besides a reverse osmosis filter should be aware that dissolved solids are generally not removed. This means that calcium carbonate, salts, and other forms of hardness are not removed from water.

This fits into my RV water filtration system and costs much less than the RV dealerships are charging. This is a much better filter and will filter out particles up to 0.5 microns for nearly the same price that my local RV supply store charges for a 5 micron filer. I full time and replace my filter every 3 months. I haven't noticed any change in my water pressure since switching to this filter and my water tastes the same as before. Great product.
