Professional Insect Net (18-inch Aerial) Net with extendable 54-inch handle, has a 18-inch nickel plated collapsible hoop with reinforced heavy duty sail cloth band and a bag depth of 38-inches. The extra-durable polyester net bag tapers to form rounded open bottom. Educational Science replacement sweep/aerial net bags are fabricated from white durable blended polyester netting material. The mesh size is approximately 24 x 20 per inch. The tricot interlocking netting is manufactured in a manner that helps prevent snags and tears. The net bags are banded with natural heavy-duty sailcloth. These bags are available in 15-inch and 18-inch diameters. The detachable threaded aluminum handle extends from 23-54-inches. When the handle is unscrewed and detached from hoop, the net bag, handle, and hoop will fit in large purse, small duffel bag, or large backpack.

It had promise, and is better at first at catching dragonflies than nets with smaller diameters & pole lengths. However, like the 1st reviewer, mine fell apart within a matter of weeks. If the handle gets wet, the segments eventually detach mid-swing due to rust. Need to find a 4-foot handled dragonfly net that goes to 18" diameter for sweep nets, plus a tan or green net bag. This one has THE WORST habit of failing right when the wariest dragonfly species are finally close enough to take a solid swing at!!!

Handle is not strong so general use will cause it to bend easily. A wood handle would be better

It works, pretty flimsey. Not for hard use.

Don't buy this product. It breaks apart almost immediately. It is structurally unsound. I have one that broke on the first real swing to catch a bug. I tried using it a little longer. After a week, it was in 8 pieces and completely unusable and unsalvageable. The shape of the net is good, though. Unfortunately, I can't use it. I would give this a zero star, but that's not an option.
