Switch works with surefire product. And fit is better than pther reviews. Mine has no gap and appears to be able to seal for water tight fit. Long term? No clue its wiring is not shielded/armored like SF harnesses but then again you can buy 5 of these and still have enough left over for a burger (or 20 rounds)

Worked great for my knock-off m600 scout light. Stays put on my top rail. The pressure pad doesn't stick out over the sides of the whole assembly, which helps cut down on light ND.

What I love about it:- Inexpensive- Works great with my Surefire A178819- Two buttons: "click on/click off" and "Hold for on" arranged well. What I wish they would have done better:The picatinny mount. it's a flexible plastic/rubber material that feels cheap and easy to break. Because it's picatinny if you have M-lock or KeyMod you're going to need an adapter, which isn't included, and you're going to add ounces, and it's going to stick out further to get snagged on stuff (more of a concern).I wish they would have just put in two screw holes and given an option for Picatinny, M-lock, KeyMod, or none.I'm not kicking doors or jumping out of helicopters in full battle rattle so I can live with it's shortcomings, I'd like to give it 4.8 stars because I feel like it's a little bit better than 4, but certainly not 5 stars.

I don't have any real experience with Surefire tapeswitches per se, but I've seen what they ask for them, which is why I (and you) have found ourselves here right now. From what I can tell, this unit does what that $100 tapeswitch does, but it does it for a whole lot less. The on/off button has positive and clicky engagement, and the momentary on pad is likewise positive and has tactile engagement; slides right on your pic rail, with the right amount of cable to stretch to the other side of your upper to your weapon light. Its of a decent size; big enough to use instinctively, but it will take up some rail room. Big thumbs up on fit, operation, and overall feel/fit/finish. It doesn't necessarily feel like a cheap part, but your wallet will testify differently. Its a knockoff part, of course. You may have opinions about using knockoff parts; some think that buying unbranded knockoff parts is like robbing from the rightful manufacturer. From my perspective, any manufacturer that asks me for over $100 for a simple electrical switch like this is robbing from me straight up. Recommended.

Short review: all said and done, if it passes a hard-use range day, I'll be buying a second as a backup. Not because I don't expect it to last, but because it's too cheap not to get a just-in-case spare lol. Note that I did not receive any zip ties with this unit. Test light specs:Body: Arisaka 600Head: Malkoff E2XTTailcap: Surefire UE07 (FDE)Battery: Single 16650 3.7V 2100mAhGiven that a tape switch is just a cable, plug, and two buttons shrouded in molded plastic/rubber, I had a hard time stomaching paying for the genuine Surefire SR07 tape switch, which costs $112 (MSRP) down to $92 on Amazon (with the added risk getting a fake anyways). So, I bought this for just under $18.Overall, the fit and finish exceeded my expectations: the switch itself is identical the Surefire unit in shape and operation, with the exclusion of the logo and the fact the the housing is smooth compared to the SR07's rougher texture. The plug seats perfectly into the Surefire UE07 tailcap, requiring some force to click it in all the way, as expected (it's supposed to be hard to yank OFF, after all). Cable is sturdy, if anything given the price I'm worried about the connections at either end than the cable itself, but time and use will tell if the connections are solid. The toggle button has a positive click; the pressure pad does as well, but only if you press near the center of it. I've kept the light on for about 5 minutes using both buttons individually and didn't experience any flickering. The pressure pad isn't stupid-sensitive, allowing you to rest a thumb over it without activating the light.
