I was having a hard time finding something big enough for both a bed and a feeding station. This cat house is the perfect size and provides easy top access for cleaning and filling the food bowl. Last night the temperature was below freezing, and the water bowl did not freeze, so this shelter is well insulated. Assembly was very easy, and all the tools needed were provided. Great product.

This is a fairly sturdy wooden cat house. It wasn't hard to put together, even for one person. The directions were easy to follow. It came with extra screws and included a screwdriver, although I used an electric one to save my wrists. The predrilled holes lined up, and it went together in about 20 minutes. The bottom however is just a thin plywood, so I wouldn't call this super-insulated by any means, in fact it is so thin the one I received was bowed just a bit, so with the extra screws included I ended up "toenailing" it to the bottom ledge at the divider area as it was bowed enough it bounced if pressed on. I also placed some insulation on the bottom of it to help keep it warmer than just that thin wood alone would do. I like that is roof tilts open to facilitate cleaning and the opening also has an overhang to help keep out rain and snow. All in all it's not's bad house, but I can see some places it needs improvement.

Size & Design:Dimensions: 31 inches long, 18 inches wide, with an angled roof providing 18 inches of height on the tall side and 16 inches on the shorter side.Interior:The actual livable space is smaller due to wall thickness; the door measures 7 inches wide by 9.25 inches high.Wall Construction:Composed of 1/4 inch pine, 1/2 inch foam core, and 1/16 inch inner panel, totaling just under an inch thick.Floor:Only 1/16 inch real wood, no insulation, sits on raised legs allowing cold air underneath. Very disappointing.Features:Roof: Hinged, covered with black asphalt; includes an asphalt piece over the entrance and a clear vinyl sliced wind blocker.Separator:Included but I will not be using, to maximize the space for two cats.Assembly:Took my husband and I under 20 minutes. Hex screw tool was awkward, but pre-drilled holes made assembly easier.Modifications Needed:An escape door was added by my husband, who also installed additional clear vinyl for wind protection.Plans to coat with waterproof polyurethane before outdoor use.Pros:The design is attractive, particularly in black, and is neat in appearance. It is convenient to assemble quickly, especially compared to building a shelter from scratch.Cons:Lack of floor Insulation: No insulation in the floor, no included heated or self-heating mat, which is a significant drawback for the price. The clear vinyl door covering is extremely stiff and brittle in cold temperatures. Mine stiffened and actually cracked. It softened back up after we removed it and brought it indoors, and replaced the opening with a temporary plastic/fabric cover.Material Misrepresentation:The outer pine wood is only about 1/4 inch thick, thinner than expected from pictures. Also the foam is only 1/2 inch thick, misrepresented in the photos. AND the foam is not on the floor bottom, which is indicated in the photos that the floor is also insulated.Space:Likely only suitable for one adult cat with the separator or two without.Overall Rating:3 stars due to the flooring thickness and lack of flooring insulation, and thinner than advertised pine wood.It did arrive within just a few days, and arrived undamaged.

Product is well made but bottom piece is just plywood. I had to add insulation. Easy to assemble and directions are very clear.

Although the sick to hold up the top can't be installed and one of the panels had soooo much lint on it, I will order another for the homeless kitties. Seems sturdy for winter

Love these enough that I arranged for donations of money for a local cat shelter to purchase them for feral cat colonies

This is a shelter that is made from lightweight materials. It is fairly easy to assemble. The wood is light but provides a nice amount of protection from the elements. It is up off the ground to help keep the interior from getting wet. The included heating pad is sturdy and provides a nice amount of heat. It is a larger size that can accommodate multiple smaller animals. It looks nice and will fit in a smaller space well. I like that it open and seems to attract animals well. I have multiple shelters around for the various animals. I usually have at least one animal enjoying relaxing inside this one. It is also easy to clean. That is a huge selling point for me.
