A very simple design but a great accessory to have. Never know when big brother is watching.

I keep it on all the time with no issues. Slide it back and forth to cover my cam on my Macbook Air M1 and haven't noticed any scratches. Great solution.

The principle of the bar is a good one; it's easy to put on the screen, but already the right side of it as you look at it is hanging off. I haven't done anything to it, and it's not like I have been sliding it over and over. I am left wondering how like it will be before it falls off.

This does the job perfectly. I had heard the old camera covers that stuck on could damage the screen. This thin strip stays in place due to the magnets in the laptop lid, and the whole thing slides to cover the camera while still letting the light sensor work. I put off getting it due to the price for a long time, but I'm glad I did now.

I'm not paranoid. I swear. But I've seen too many people make embarrassing and sometimes costly mistakes while thinking nobody was watching them on their webcam, and I want to be sure. Not everything I do in my house is fit for public consumption, ya know? So I've been using a neatly-cut piece of blue painters tape to cover the camera, and it's just ugly. The corner I use to pull it up won't stay down, and it's super-obvious that I have a camera blocker. I don't want that to encourage certain people to start up a conversation about how the government is watching us and using Elon Musk's satellites to control our minds. Nothing wrong with those guy, just not for me. Ya know?So I found this webcam cover on Amazon, saw the price, and thought "this much for a thin piece of metal?" But the reviews were really good, so I grabbed a crowbar, pulled my dusty American Express Aluminum card out, and ordered one.I got it today, and yep. A thin piece of metal with a thin strip of magnet on one side. I could have made one of these in my 9th grade shop class. But it would be big and ugly, and would probably break my screen whenever I closed my Macbook. Sorry, where was I?In fact, it's a perfect accessory. It sticks easily to the integrated magnet at the top of the screen, and holds steadily. It doesn't interfere with the laptop closing, or the magnet holding the Macbook closed. You just use a finger (or toe, if you're into that) to slide the strip of metal sideways to hide or open up your camera. It has an extra hole so that whether the camera is open or covered, it doesn't block the light sensor. It's so nicely done, it feels like something Apple would make themselves if they weren't so pig-headed. [It doesn't matter if the green light shows the camera is on if you aren't looking at the computer at the time, Tim!] Oh, sorry. So yeah, it's pretty expensive for what it is, but it is elegant and works perfectly. Kind of like my Macbook. I guess I'll be getting a second one for my work computer. Definitely don't need a whoopsie there!

The construction is one long piece of metal with two stickers on the back to smooth it out. It includes a hole on top for the webcam and also for the light sensor.I've used 5+ webcam covers on my MacBook Pro and here's my first impressions in comparison:- ++ It is not going to break/come loose because it is not glued on- ++ My daughter is probably not going to destroy it- ++ It will get stuck in the on or off positions- -- Properly opening or closing it requires two hands and ~4 seconds, compared to one hand and 1 secondSince I paid $20 for this (1/10 the price of Apple's cheapest iDevice) I consider this a premium product and have high expectations.A better design could have hugged the upper lid of the inner MacBook Pro case. Also the size of the bar could be shortened so that it snaps into place as it catches the magnet, perfectly aligning to the camera hole. Lastly, a red sticker could be included so that I may better know if the cover is "open" or "closed".Yes, I understand these first two suggestions would require holding an inventory of multiple EB-PRO-1000s in order to match different magnet alignments and top lid spacings. But actually not really, just cut from the bottom rather than the middle of the metal like this:████████████▀▀▀██▀▀██████████

Love this camera cover! I've been hunting for a good camera privacy cover for a long time, but pretty much everything out there was too thick for my MacBook Pro and had review after review saying they would crack the MBP screen. It was either that or stickers that would lose their stickiness after a month of heavy use. This cover is super thin and lightweight. It almost literally installs itself by snapping to the built-in magnets in the lid/screen. You can barely tell the cover is there most of the time.Very happy with this purchase and highly recommend purchasing.

Bought this for my 2019/2020 16" MacBook Pro. I was a bit skeptical at the $20 price point, but I risked it since I had been reading a bunch of other reviews for the tinier webcam covers that were too thick and ended up adding enough pressure to crack people's screens. Since the whole thin metal piece slides over with its magnets, it's easy to use and doesn't obstruct any sensors and fits completely within the top bezel of the screen so it's super discreet. I would say it's about as thick as the rubber that surrounds the screen when it sits flush with it. If anything, it's a perfect place for my thumb to be placed on its matte texture when I want to adjust the screen angle without getting fingerprints directly on my screen.
