My Weber is now 10 years old - best investment I made in a grill. This cover finally failed and caused my igniter to fail due to the heat it was not protected any longer. Once I was able to remove the old bolt - the new one fit perfect. Sure to provide me years of continued grilling.

Installed on 12 year old e330. Original was rusted through. The old screw on the original was rusted solid so needed to be drilled out. New shield fits perfectly.

6 years later this was corroded and likely the cause of my igniter failure. Replaced both. Grill works correctly again. This heat shield is overpriced, but likely important. This part fit perfectly.

The screw that holds the old shield in is very hard to remove. I could not get it off. I removed the old crusty one and just place the new shield in place a used the flavor bars to secure it. Had to use a piece of metal to wedge one of the flavor bars to secure the new shield. I will have my handyman come over and drill out the old screw and hopefully use the screw that came with the shield.

This heat shield is in the exact dimensions needed for my Weber Genesis. A few people have lowered their ratings because their prior heat shield was hard to remove, which can be true, but isn’t a good reason for me to lower the rating for this item, as it is actually extremely easy to install once the old, rusted one is removed. For my rusted heat shield, I simply ripped it out using locking pliers. Sprayed some WD40 on the remaining screw, and used the locking pliers to unscrew. The screw is designed for a socket wrench, but the rust made it a bit difficult to fit. Took about 3-4 minutes. As already noted, the install was easy.Note: the Weber parts website seems to no longer carry this item, so getting it here was a bonus. A bit expensive, but worth it if you want to keep your grill as close to new as possible.
