Good materials, good fit and finish, and is accurate and easy to read. It still looks brand new after several months. It adds a touch of class in my wood shop that an electronic instrument would not, and never needs batteries. Five stars from a sailor who crossed the Atlantic with it would be more meaningful, but in my situation it is great. I do wish the online description included the fact that it is made in China, but I didn't mark it down for that because the quality is good.UPDATE after 9 years - Still looks new and works fine in my shop. One important note: in a low humidity environment (heated building) you must maintain it every 6 months by wrapping it in a damp cloth for 24 hours. This will keep the sensor coil from sticking and giving a false reading. The instructions mention this, but I was too lazy to do it until the hygrometer stuck at 50% for a couple of months. One more thing: the Amazon price has more than doubled since I bought mine. It was a great value in 2015, but now I would shop around a bit more.
