This thing is amazing for beginners like myself. I'm self-teaching myself how to weld for fun (and maybe money later on). The first portion of the book is more of an academic understanding of all things welding on a basic, easy to follow level. The rest of the book is a detailed blueprint of different plans to make for welding with everything from welding curtains and a cart to trailers and stuff for around the house. The plans are incredibly easy to follow. Pictures are in color. There is a list for each project telling you what materials you will need and measurements and then there is a break-down of those materials, what they are going to be used for, exact measurements of each component and how many will be needed. I definitely would recommend this for everyone

If you've never welded in your life and have no one to teach you how this book probably won't make the difference. But if you have some experience this book might have some pointers for you.It does have useful info about buying metal AND it is FULL of plans for making things. From fireplace candlabras to acetylene carts - work tables - over 40 in all. Materials lists and step by step instructions.

Great book covering all aspects, especially for a beginner. The projects that you can make cover some really handy items.

I am a brand-new welding student intending to use welding as a hobby and repair skill. I haven't seen any book that I would rate as 5 stars, which would require that it cover all the stuff covered in other books. It is not as detailed in discussing HOW to weld as some others. However, it has more projects that I am actually likely to do than any of the others I have. I plan to make my own welding table and welding carts from the projects in this book.

Well, I have to give this 5 stars for the projects alone. We aren't absolute beginners in welding so there were some things we picked up in reading about the different types of welding. But the projects were jam up and jelly tight. I can see us making some serious jack with some of these projects. They are not hard and are all quite interesting. We gone weld up some s*** with this book!

Not as complete in arc welding as I had hoped. Some very interesting projects. Good overall background on a wide variety of welding techniques

è un libro di progetti che però non spiega nei dettagli come effettuare le giunzioni. i disegni sono molto approssimativi e non vi è alcuna spiegazione di come effettuare le giunzioni . per capirci se devo unire due profili ad angolo posso farlo in un sacco di modi e il libro non mi da nessuna idea di come l'abbiano fatto loro. ci sono anche diverse inesattezze. sicuramente non lo ricomprerei.,..

pretty good book with lots of pictures and plans. I think it's worth it if you want some plans to start with.

Covers the absolute basics. No instruction on positional welding or different types like lap, butt or T. Very little on heat or puddle control.
