L'hard disk non funziona: viene visto una volta su due da due pc differenti e non sono riuscito a portare a termine la formattazione. Non sembrava un ricondizionato ma probabilmente solo difettoso. Rimandato ovviamente indietro, un po troppo tempo per il rimborso che ancora non è arrivato

I realize that buying refurbished is often a crap shoot regarding previous usage, but this one arrived brand new according to all of the SMART data testing I did. Very satisfied, especially for the price. It's also worth mentioning that dreaded fact that usable storage is always lower than what is advertised. In this case, an 18TB drive is actually about 16TB of storage space.

I was hesitant on purchasing a renewed product but this has been working fine for over a year. I use it as a backup drive with an automatic backup program running nightly. No problems.

Works very well so far. Normal noise levels, fast read and write speeds, and good thermals. It came with appropriately sized piece of kapton tape, an adapter, and instructions on how to cover the pins if it is needed for your use case. The S.M.A.R.T. shows 0 hours powered on and the first power cycle on the first boot.

J’avais déjà acheté le même disque dur il y a 2 ans et ayant été très satisfait je me suis tourné vers un disque reconditionné car le prix étant très intéressant.J’ai acheté un premier disque dur chez un revendeur autre qu’Amazon, malheureusement défaillant, il ne s’allumais absolument pas. Après un retour, j’ai retenté en achetant un disque vendu par Amazon et là la bonne surprise, il a fonctionné du premier coup.👉 Lors de mon premier achat, j’avais un peu peur de trouver un disque peu protégé dans un carton à moitié vide mais la bonne surprise est que l’emballage est adapté. De plus le disque est dans un emballage anti-électrostatique.👉 Niveau capacité on a physiquement 16,3 To et cela correspond exactement à mon premier disque acheté au prix fort, c’est toujours un peu décevant car on n’a pas la capacité théorique mais bon je m’y suis fait avec le temps.✅ Vérifié avec CristalDisk, le disque est reconnu sain avec 0 démarrage car réinitialisé en usine.Niveau bruit c’est le grand plus comparé à un de mes disques HGST qui est très bruyant.❌ Acheté un disque dur mécanique sur internet est toujours une loterie mais heureusement on peut toujours le retourner et pour avoir eu aussi un problème avec mon premier disque WD Ultrastar DC HC550 sur un autre site, le retour Amazon est bien plus simple et rapide.Le fait que le disque soit reconditionné annule la garantie de 3 ans chez Western Digital mais avec la formule Amazon sur les produits reconditionnés on a une garantie de 1 an. Dans tous les cas je recommande vivement de surveiller ses disques durs régulièrement pour déceler une anomalie avant qu’il soit trop tard.Pour ma part je recommande et si j’ai eu un problème sur mon premier je ne regrette pas d’avoir retenté.

Ordered 5 of these to get my home server going. They arrived quick and well packaged. Had a little trouble with them not giving me the initial option to setup as gpt. Just opened up disk part and did the convert gpt and they popped right up. All showing healthy from the few test I ran on them. Will update if anything changes.

I got this disk as Renewed, but, according to intact packaging and SMART attributes (never turned on and zero time on), the disk was absolutely new.Please beware that the disk uses new SATA interface that says the presence of 3.3V signal on 3rd pin now means "put the drive into sleep mode". Revelation: most power supplies do send 3.3V there. Result: it looks like a dead disk. I shall say I blame mor... I mean, smart people from SATA committee -- not WD engineers -- who, in their infinite wisdom, required backward-incompatible change. Solution: either get rid of pin #3 (e.g. by taping or painting it over) or use 4-wire -- 2 x ground (black) wires, 12V (yellow), and 5V (red) wire -- instead of 5-wire (same as above + brown or gray 3.3V wire). The thing is that hard disks do not need 3.3V power, believe or not, and never needed.Fortunately, the package included 4-wire SATA power adapter. Thanks WD!The disk is outstanding. Almost no vibration and so quiet -- even during operation -- that it is hard to tell that the disk is on. And it really fast (for a mechanical hard disk -- SSDs are much faster, but are much smaller and much more expensive per byte of storage), easily reaching 215-220 MB/s even when 60% full (270-280 MB/s when empty). Impressive. Super-large 512 MB cache is used efficiently too. And it is doing it all silently! Very impressive.18 TB size, combined with relatively expensive and fast conventional magnetic recoding (aka CMR) vs much cheaper and slower SMR, and reasonable price make it one of the best disks on the market today.I can only hope the HC series will be as reliable (the disk carries, AFAIK, 5 years of warranty, not the usual 3 years) as other Western Digital and HGST disks. If so, it is a steal. At least for me.UPDATE 10-Apr-2024. Old disks work flawlessly. Bought two more. Brand new, never used. Somewhat faster than old ones. Identical otherwise. Thank you!
