Exactly what I expected. Takes work for a diy, but it's on!! Don't need big expensive brush guard with this winch tray

The tray and its mounts are solid, everything lined up nice and square and was relatively easy to work on. Be warned there are some tight spaces under the front end of an old Silverado, but I'm not a great mechanic by any stretch and I was able to do this with help from a 10-year-old who could sneak into some tight spots. Really not sure I could have gotten every bolt and nut tightened up without him, as the Westin kit has some plates/nuts/etc. going into some really tight spots (like the inside of the frame rail). My only real gripe about this kit is the instructions lacked detail. They're not too hard to follow, but they were printed in black and white and the photos were difficult to see clearly (come on, Westin... can't you at least print the instructions in color?). Also an additional page/diagram showing which parts are what would be helpful, though admittedly it's not hard to figure out.I would like to point out the instructions called for a 50mm bolt in the forward-most bottom mounting hole on the frame, and on my 06 Silverado, at least, the bolt would not seat all the way down (up) because the tip was hitting the tubular cross support on the front of the frame. I swapped this bolt out for a 35mm instead. Additionally, the instructions called for using numerous bolts to secure the mounts to the frame where the factory tow hooks were located — instead I went to the hardware store and bought some top-grade lag bolts that went all the way through, same as the tow hook bolts (unfortunately the factory tow hook bolts aren't long enough to extrude beyond the bracket). The biggest pain in the butt was removing and reinstalling the air dam (plastic portion of the bumper), which of course isn't Westin's fault. Once the dam is reinstalled the job really speeds up. The tray is holding my Smittybilt just fine, and this option is much, much cheaper than an aftermarket bumper, not to mention much lighter.

Fairly easy to install. The mount is solid and fit great on my 2004 Chevrolet Silverado LS extended cab 4x4.

The Westin website displayed this part # for a 1500HD. This does not fit a 1500HD. I called the company and they said that they do not do any testing on 1500HD's. I don't know why they would have a 1500HD as an option when choosing your vehicle if they do not test their products on that vehicle. Other than that the tray was not fully welded together. They put 2 or 3 inch welds and then left a gap between each weld. I obviously didn't get to use the product so I cannot give further review.

A very well built mount. Install went pretty smooth on my Silverado Classic.

Mounted up 90% correctly, had to trim a small portion of the grill down to get the crossbars to slide through but it wasn't a big deal. Enjoying it so far!

Great Fit. Good price. STRONG!!! Subtracted one star because a winch mount should come with tow hooks. I had to make a separate order to get tow hooks, which is necessary if you plan to actually use your winch with a snatch block.
