The description does not explain why this adapter is different from and superior to many others. Most adapters are compatible with ¾- inch and 1-inch PVC, which refers to the inside diameter of the condensate drain pipe. In other words, other adapters are inserted inside the end of the condensate drain pipe, which means that air and water flowing back to the wet vac are restricted by a much smaller diameter than ¾ inches. In most cases, the inside diameter of the adaptor is only ½ inch or less. This adapter is also compatible with ¾-inch and 1-inch PVC pipe but it surrounds the condensate pipe, that is, the end of the condensate pipe is inserted inside the adapter. This makes a big difference in performance because the inside diameter of this adaptor is ¾ inches, much larger than the ½-inch inside diameter of others. A ¾-inch inside diameter has 2.25 times the cross sectional area of a ½-inch opening. That means the path back to the wet vac is not being restricted by the adapter, at least, not in the case of a ¾-inch drain pipe. This adaptor is also very well made out of heavy duty PVC parts that fit together perfectly in many different ways depending on the location and size of the condensate drain pipe outlet.

This is an excellent adapter that allows you to connect the outside opening of your AC line with a wet vac to enable cleanout. It fits and works well. The price, ~$18 seems quite high for what you get, so this would be a much more attractive purchase if it could be sold at a significantly lower price. I will update this review if needed based on further experience.
