I live in Colorado and we have very dense, clay soil. I've struggled for several years with keeping my lawn nicely edged using a string trimmer and done mostly a poor job. I tried several years ago to use a spade to cut a line which worked well but was time consuming and hard.I ordered this tool on a whim to see if it would make cutting (and keeping) that elusive turf line a little easier. In the pictures I uploaded, you'll note that the turf before the sidewalk line was cut using this tool. You can clearly see the difference between edged and non-edged, and this will make both my future edging and snow-shoveling a lot easier! Overall, I edged 30 feet of turf in about five minutes and barely broke a sweat. This thing cut through the tough Colorado turf like butter.I'd recommend this tool to anyone looking for an easier way to make their lawn look better. It works great and I've already had several neighbors ask how I got such a clean line!

I like trying new things for around the house and yard. I normally use my string trimmer, weekly, to edge along the sidewalk, driveway and curbing along the street. I also own an electric edger that I use maybe once per year to edge along the sidewalk and driveway. I rarely use the electric edger along the curbing on the street.This manual edger did a pretty good job along the sidewalk and driveway. The longer and thicker grass cut easily. Keep in mind, these areas are not overgrown at all. I usually do them weekly with the string trimmer.I ran into a little trouble edging along the curbing along the street. Some of the grass there is thinker and I had trouble pushing the edger through that grass. My string trimmer doesn’t cut that stuff either so its not completely the manual edger’s fault.Overall, a pretty decent garden tool. It is a good substitute for my string trimmer and I will end up using it regularly.
