I measured my old pitted cones with a micrometer and this one matched their diameter and length (and thread). It is all perfect except that it does not come with dust caps. I can remove my dust caps from the old cones and press fit them to these new cones and hope that: the alignment of the dust caps is correct (perpendicular to the axle), and there is enough friction to keep them in place. This process of reusing dust caps can only survive so many iterations . . .
