This was easy to assemble and very sturdy. However, the process of putting & removing the little slots is a hassle , causing them to crack easily. If you take two off, the last one at the bottom I don’t feel is high enough to keep puppies safe unattended. Instead of 3 slots all around, there should be only two higher slots on only the entry side. Other than that, this box seems to be great. Still waiting on puppies to see the functionality with them.

It's a easy set up whelping box and works for the puppies, but there is no door to give mom easy access in and out without having to dismantle the slots. Also the puppies the 2nd week were slipping through the open slot space and now week three on multiple occasions, i have had to get a puppy unstuck so I put some cardboard pieces on the other side to prevent them from squeezing through and getting stuck.

I loved the idea of vinyl. It is slick, clean looking, easy to clean. However, this is not regulation built for a whelping box. 1. Beware that there is a reason for regulations for the safety of the puppy. First off there is no floor. A whelping box should have a false floor that you can heat from beneath or trap mother's heat. The pups chest against the cold floor can cause pneumonia. The slats for the adjustable door had one of my puppies trapped in the middle of the night. Very hard to take apart without breaking. A lot of hammering with rubber mallet. It wont stand the test of time. I loved the idea of light weight but it was too light and the mother had this thing shifting all over the kitchen. I had to support it with 50lb bags of dog food. I returned the whelping box. One morning I woke up and the entire box had lifted and somehow landed on a puppies waist. I don't know how long the puppy had been in that predicament. A plastic kitty swimming pool would be better than this and a lot easier to handle. I wouldn't recommend either.

This whelping box is so solid it would last 100 years it’s easy to put together the pig rails are nice and large and give the puppies plenty of room to get under them a place for mama dog to see out adjustable entry so as the puppies get older, you can make the entry taller. This is every bit as good as the easy Welp welding box that costs $500.
