it was a pain to install just because none of the videos showed my washer, but once it was in, it solved my problem. as a part it works great, just get good instructions on how to take the washer apart.

This was exactly what we needed! Found a YouTube video for our washing machines common issue, this was the recommended part to replace, simple straightforward swap, didn’t even need my husband to help! Hopeful the extra investment into the genuine part rather than the Chinese knock off will be worthwhile, but this is super cost effective over paying for a repair service and easy to install in just a few minutes.

Needed to replace the locking system for the washer. It takes longer to take the top of the washer off than it does to replace the system.

I bought this part for a Maytag top load washer, one year and 2 months from purchase, and this part needed replacing! Unwilling to wait Weeks on repairman, pay for hours of diagnosis, then wait more Weeks for them to order part, more waiting, then more paying? No. Clothing needs washing! Lets get to it:If you are mechanically inclined this can be installed by you. Learning the diagnostic codes are the biggest hurdle! Scour the internet of course! Do some homework! Know the problem. Make a plan.(should i point out the importance to begin by disconnecting from water & electric :Wait for residual power to drain! -use a volt meter if unsure and use masking tape to hold the lid closed?)Tips: It's helpful to have 2 people on install. Especially if you don't want to disconnect the washers internal wiring completely; one to work behind machine, remove a few screws and slide the top to open and other holding the top( like an open car hood) one of you unplug from motherboard and other to remove cable from its clips, then reverse process with the new part. 30 minutes and the pizza, it's not free!
