Strong magnet, and convenient for sticking to the fridge. At first I didn't know how many toothpicks this would hold, and still function, so I originally overfilled it. I'd say this toothpick holder is good for holding approximately 100 toothpicks at any given time, or approximately half full. The openings on top are fairly small, so getting a toothpick to come out requires a couple smacks to the side of the container. I assume making the holes any larger would make the toothpicks fly out too freely. The cap stays on, and is fairly secure, so it's not too bad.

I’m not really sure what to think about this toothpick holder.The domed half egg shape looks nice, but it makes it impossible to know how much to fill it. Since only the center of the domed shape is tall enough to hold a toothpick, you have to guess how many will fit and do trial and error. Then you have to fit the clear lid back into place while keeping the toothpicks somewhat centered inside. No easy task if you’ve put in as many as it will actually hold.I got this because I really liked the idea of being able to stick it on side of the fridge with the magnet. Obviously, very convenient. No digging thru the cupboard looking for toothpicks. The egg shape, while less than ideal for function, is nice for appearance. You stick it on the fridge and it has a little bit of style to it so it’s not so visually unappealing. It doesn’t work quite as well setting it on a table or other flat surface. It’s quite wobbly, like it doesn’t sit flat, and tips over very easily. So while you can just set it out for guests, don’t expect it to stay where you put it. It will slide around and/or tip over. The holes in the top do dispense the toothpicks work quite well with a little shaking so that’s not an issue.Maybe I’m just too impatient and don’t want to take the time involved to fill this thing just right for it to work. I’d rather be able to just dump them in, put the lid on and be done. I can’t do that with this.
