The gasket rope was fine. The glue was useless and dried up. I had to run to the hardware store and get some more.

So I'm in the middle of changing the gasket on my pellet stove (Whitfield Advantage II). I start spreading the glue/gasket stuff. It's really runny.... until I get halfway down the tube and only part way around my door. Then the stuff is totally dry and not coming out of the tube no matter how hard I squeeze it. Feels like it's soft in the tube, but it's apparently not as no more will come out. Dug out the top, cut the nozzle down more, but nope. Had to order another tube from Amazon. Luckily they got it to me overnight. One more thing- the gasket was finally changed- and now it leaks smoke out of the front. It's correctly glued in and I made sure not to stretch the gasket material (which would make it thinner and less likely to prevent air leaks). It just doesn't work. I'll need to purchase a replacement and do the job again. Incredibly frustrating.
