I primarily use this more for the SOS button than anything. I already have an alarm system for the doors, etc. - but the SOS buttons would be useful if my elderly parents needed to contact me immediately and they can't make a phone call while at home. It comes with 3 door sensor detectors if you want to get alerted for that, and it also comes with 3 sensors on lanyards. You can stick the sensors on the wall too. The sensors are a big ridiculously big if hanging around your neck, in my opinion, but when stuck to a wall, it's a good size. I used the SmartLife app since I already use that app for other things and getting it set up was easy. It does NOT come with any power adapter so you will need to plug the home base into a USB port. The SOS sensor had no problems communicating with the home base anywhere in my home but your home base needs to have a good wifi connection. When triggered, the home base will play and alert 3 times and your app on your phone will also alert you. Now this is the weird part - the alert I get on my phone is melodic but also a woman's recording plays and it's in Madarin. I couldn't find a way to change the language. It's not a huge deal since I'm still alerted, but I would think that the language shouldn't be fixed? Anyway, like I said, I use this for the SOS function and it seems to work well despite the little anomalies. That said, an adaptor should have been included.

As my grandparents are gone, after using this wifi sensor system, I only wish that I could have had it when they were alive in their home. They were the type of people that would never want an alert system that had a monthly cost or that hooked up to emergency systems, however a system like this, that could alert family if something was wrong- this is a product they would have loved (and I would have loved to install for them). Having taken care of both of them at the end of their life there are times that my grandmother in particular could have used this alert, especially when she decided to clean and fell through a hallway door vacuuming, thinking it was the wall. When this happened it took a bit of time for her to get to the phone and call me. However, had I had one of the sensors on this kit on this door, I would have been alerted right away, when she fell through it.I have several medical issues so my husband and I wanted this system so that when he is outside of the home working, I can alert him if anything is wrong. This set definitely alerts him if and when something happens to me- so he can either call me or call someone if he can't get a hold of me. Plus, this system kind of works as an alarm to, if the sensors are armed and they go off, let out a really loud alarm that others can hear. Since we have it in an apartment building, we would bet (and hope) if anyone broke in the loud alarm would scare that person away. While it's probably true that most people would get scared with a loud alarm, it all depends on the person too and what they will do. Plus, we have neighbors who we told to call the police if they hear the alarm and don't see us.This is a great little system that can definitely help family members know if and when something goes bad in a loved one's home. Even if a person doesn't have medical issues per se, the system works great, IMO, for general security too (until you get old enough to need the system to alert family members and loved ones to medical issues).

Review Date: 04/26/2024Price when Ordered: $45.99*I ordered this product through the Amazon VINE program, so I did not pay, but I still take the price into consideration on my reviews.Overall Impression: I am fairly into Smarthome products, and when this became available through our VINE program, I was pretty excited. What I was looking for was the ability to buy 3 door sensors that were compatible with Samsung Smartthings for $46. That's a great price if they are compatible. When the box showed up, it said right on it, that it was compatible with Smartthings (although this was NOT advertised on the Amazon page, I am fairly good at getting things to work with each other). I got this out of the box, and read the included instructions. The instructions were for some sort of panic button. I had ordered door sensors. Oh well... they are sort of similar. So I downloaded one of two apps (they don't tell you which one, so I chose the SmartLife app, because it looked better. Then by reading the instructions 3 more times, I figured out how to get the control unit in pairing mode. It paired with my app/phone, and looked like it was ready to go. Then I sat for an hour, and tried to get the control unit to pair with the door sensors. I had no luck. There were no instructions anywhere on how to do this.Like I said before, I have MANY Smarthome products. I usually pair them and install them within minutes of getting them out of the box. Most of the time, I don't need to read instructions. This time though, I read the instructions, cover to cover at least 6 times, trying to find something I was missing. The app had no instructions or guide on how to pair these sensors. So, I never got to the point where I could pair this with Smartthings. I could never get a sensor to work. For $46 this is a good deal for smart sensors that will work with other products. For $46 this is a total rip-off for a product that won't pair with itself. Hopefully, if you order this, you will have better luck or some insight I didn't have. But I don't recommend this. Had I paid for it, I would have returned it. Since I didn't pay for it, it went in the trash. I recommend that the manufacturer spend some time putting the correct instructions in the box, or sending a QR code that links to an installation video or SOMETHING.The Good:The Bad:My Review Scale:5 Stars - Good product, something about it is better than I expected, would recommend.4 Stars - Good Product, with quality that I would expect. I would recommend.3 Stars - Decent Product, but there is something I don't like.2 Stars - Ok, but do not recommend.1 Star- Do Not Buy
