Did not work well with available software. Found that software had its own capture device, which worked better. Might work well enough for some but not others. Depends on your planned use.

I have a MacBook and after plugging it, I couldn’t see the usb disk/location as if it didn’t recognize the usb. I even tried opening QuickPlayer but found nothing. I was close to giving up on this thing. Anyways, I was able to figure it out by using the software “OBS Studio”. I finally saw the usb connection there. All I had to do was go to the video properties then select device and choose the usb. I hit play and was able to see the video there.

Works great. I plugged the Wiistar USB Audio Video Capture Card into my Dell Inspiron 660, ran my Sony Hi8mm camera and digitized all my very old 8mm tapes. And by the way I used Windows Movie maker to record video.

I had bought another RCA to USB converter that didn't work, so I tried my luck with this one. Lucky for me, it works perfectly! I used OBS Studio (free download) to help me convert over some old VCR tapes. It took a few attempts to get the setting right in OBS, but I got it and very pleased with this converter!

I wanted to get video off VHS tapes onto my computer. My Mac is quite old and has an outdated version (High Sierra 10.13.6) so many new apps won't even download onto my system. However, it's just a computer and I've had to figure out things before. Anyhoot, for the price it was worth the gamble. Hooked up the Wiistar and was able to use Quicktime Player and through a little trial and error I now have old video on my old Mac. My only minor disappointment was the video is in Mono however, it's a small price to pay in more ways than one. Might try some experimentation with VLC but, again, other apps would not download,

Asked for support, they sent a writeup about setting the video/sound offset. So, I used Final Cut to determine the misalignment on four machines (all different). However, It was constant over the length of each captured video. I set the offset accordingly on the four computers. Then every time I did another VHS tape, the offset was different. Impractical to fix every one of more than 1,000 tapes after capture. Product is worthless. Massive waste of my time. Found other capture devices to do the project. I should have demanded my money back.
