Chunks are very small and don’t last. Cheap substitute for real wood

Hearing "chunks" makes me think of large pieces of wood, you know, chunks. These are most like blocks at best. For size comparison, they are about the same size as a D battery or prescription pill bottle. They are bark free on the plus side though, and seem to be quality wood as they burn clean and produce great flavor. You just have to load a lot of them to get a good duration of smoke, which then makes it harder to control since you don't want any smouldering ones producing offsmoke that you don't want.

This wood tastes great for chicken and for fish. The blocks are all about the same size and have no bark. Very clean burning because they have been dried. I will buy again.

Used this Alder Wood to smoke halibut in the large wood burning smoker. Really imparts a great mild smoke flavor to fish.

Consistent size and burns well. However the blocks I received were half the size of the ones in the photo. I use a offset firebox smoker and a slow smolder comes from fewer large pieces not many small pieces. You can soak them to slow them down but I wish they were bigger like the photos

Arrived exactly as promised. Well packaged. Nice clean chunks with no bark or sawdust. Chunks were a little smaller than I'd hoped but they will work just fine in grill and smoker.

First smoke using these going from chips and other chunk types and what a huge difference.Much more consistent smoke and control with a longer burn time.Since there's no other waste in bark or "chunks" that aren't chunks from the other chunks I tried the extra cost actually ends up not being extra at all.Extremely impressed with the cherry, will be doing the maple this weekend and I'm definitely ordering again.
