These sights provide a more visible picture for my aging eyes. The quality is excellent. The design requires filing and hand fitting for my Ruger MK II. I opted to pay a gunsmith for the install.

I purchased this sight because it came in a set at a good price. Documentation did not say it would fit a Ruger MKI with a bull barrel but it does fit perfectly. The old sight drifted right out, the new right in, using a nylon hammer. (Note: the new sight top can be disassembled and used on the base of the old sight without need to drift out/in the old/new sight base. Just remove the roll pin on the sight.) The two set screws for the dove tail lock are seriously too small. It took me longer to find that tiny wrench than it did to install the entire sight package. Front sight uses the factory screw and fits the bull barrel perfectly. Use of Loctite recommended. I had considered the TruGlow sights, since they have a slightly bigger light tube set up. Easier to pick up by older eyes. They did not have a package set to fit my gun and the price for front/back sight combination was more than this sight. The Fire Sight is actually pretty bright out doors in light so it will meet my needs for varmint control around the homestead.

I do a lot of target shooting and about 1/2 of my guns- from my two Volquartsen Ruger .22's to my H&K USP .40 Compact wear these sights. You can spend twice as much and get the same quality. My other guns wear a high end Italian brand- especially some of my S&W 1970's-1990's revolvers that have been custom fitted at three times the price as these. If Williams makes them for your gun and you're on the fence about the quality-Buy Them! Most models have windage and elevation screw adjustment which you don't see on many other brands and nothing worse than a nice-out of the box gun with fixed rear sights that shoots high or low- too far left or right. it's enough to make you crazy and many companies are now installing their fixed rear sights with such force that you need a 40lb vise- two 2x4's to hold the gun and a 3/8" brass drift and 3lb brass hammer to even get them to budge .010" left or right.

The sights were just what was needed. Bright sun or dim light, no problem. Better than the red dot.

This is my 2nd set of these sights, have another set already mounted. For open sights on a pistol they can't be beat!

I had a gunsmith install these on a spare barrel for my wife's Ruger Mk IV Target model so she has one barrel with a red dot, one with these iron sights. The rear sight has to be drifted in, not something I had the tools or skill to do. At the range we sighted it in easily and my wife really likes the sights for target practice. We were shooting at 15 yards and she was consistently getting 1 to 2 inch groupings.

I bought this to go on a new base model Ruger Mark iv 22/45 (not the LITE). And it’s GREAT!FIRST, and MOST IMPORTANT: I stumbled across a 2 page illustrated and much simplified install procedure for the Williams rear sight on the Tandemkross web site (they sell this same Williams set). It makes the process of putting in the fiberoptic rear sight immensely easier and quicker, without the need for drifting out the entire sight from the dovetail, and saving yourself some money too if you were going to have a gunsmith install it. You only need a small flat blade screwdriver to accomplish the task. This is a huge tip! (And I love Tandemkross stuff.) It was a proverbial piece of cake, and took me less than 2 minutes to do it. Here's the link:https://www.tandemkross.com/assets/images/Instructions/Williams%20Fire%20Sight%20Installation%20Instructions%20-%20Post%20July%202018.pdfNote: according to the info from Tandemkross, this install method works only for Mark IV, Mark IV 22/45 and Mark IV 22/45 Lite manufactured after July 2018.Continuing my review:The two fiberoptic dots on this Williams set, installed as above, are at essentially the same height as the proper place for front-back sight alignment (per Ruger) on the original Ruger sight. However, there is a difference between the height of the factory front blade sight and the one that came with the Williams sights. The the factory sight at the point you’d normally line up with the rear sight, the highest point, sits 9.7 mm (3/8”) above the top center of the barrel (according to my not so expensive micrometer). The Williams replacement front sight measures only approximately 8.4 mm (about 21/64”) from the barrel top to the front fiberoptic. I worried that I wouldn’t be able to make enough of an elevation adjustment on the rear sight because of this >1 mm difference, but a trip to the range showed no problem (at 10 yards, the only distance I checked).I had also installed a rail on the top of the gun (Ruger 90623 1913 Picatinny Rail, from Amazon) for those times when I might want to put on a red dot (probably on a quick-detach mount). I worried that when the red dot was not on the rail would at least partially block the line of sight from the rear to the shorter front sight. That was not a problem either.I do have a bias for Hiviz fiberoptics, but as best I can tell Hiviz doesn’t sell a front-back sight combo for this gun, and although I could find the correct front sight I couldn’t find one for the back with a total cost close to what I paid for this Williams set. I'm completely satisfied with this purchase.
