Very nicely made, extremely good fit, provides useful all-round protection but especially to the front (screen and knobs) area that looks the most likely to get bashed when out on [P|S|I]ota activities.Obviously it increases the overall size/volume but the protection, fit, and generally inspired confidence is appreciated - recommended.

It is a very solid cage and provides a lot of protection on all sides. It is a little bulky, but that’s kind of to be expected.

As usual I'll start out with the low points (only 1). Windcamp needs to add two loops on the sides so the radio can hang down from the operators neck... for pedestrian mobile and DF/RFI purposes... I use this radio for portable, occasional Ped-mobile and finding RFI sources with a loop... I made a kluged up arrangement with nylon rope and and a shoulder strap....That being said, the unit is well made... and has nice tilt feel for portable operating.I recommend this for protection of your rig... it's definitely worth the money.73,Joe W7UV

This is hands down the best cage for the 705, a reasonable price unlike the pevoli cage that for this price doesnt even offer any real protection u less u add on the extra part and thatll run about $300. The only issue was the old antenna mount not fitting and needing to spend another $30 for the upgraded one, I believe they should include it with this cage, even if they charge only $10 more I could live with thatIt would also be nice if the tab on the bottom to angle the radio up a bit would ad a tad more angle to it. Otherwise a very fine product.

ガッチリしたフォルムに精悍な趣を演出します。機能的にもまた材質的にも申し分なく 中華製である実感は感じません。とても精度良く作られています。オプションのアンテナコネクター固定金具をつけると スピーカーマイクが付けづらくなりますがこれは取り回しで回避できますが、専用のスピーカーマイク用延長コードがあるともっとスッキリしますね。ただしこちらの商品は値段が高いのがネックです。でも屋外に安心して持ち出せる屈強な保護が期待できるのがいいです。又、この商品を車やシャックにガッチリ固定できる機能があると更にいいかと思います。とても良くできています。

macht einen soliden Endruck und der Portabelbetrieb ist nicht mehr ganz so abenteuerlich wie ohne "Außenskelett".Ich kann nicht sagen dass der GPS Empfang nicht mehr möglich ist, funktioniert bei mir noch gut.Der Käfig ist mit 3 Schrauben gesichert, wenn man die Schraube vom Stativ weglässt und diese am Stativ durch eine etwas längere ersetzt dann klappt es auch wieder, wie auf den Bildern zu sehen.Durch den kleinen Aufsteller ist aber eine Stativmontage nicht mehr zwingend nötig da das Gerät schon von sich aus ganz gut angekippt stehen bleibt.Zum besseren Handling habe ich mir trotz der Dämpfung noch einen BNC-Winkel geleistet. Der muss auch nicht verdrehsicher sein, da ich die Antenne nicht direkt aufs Gerät schraube.

Very well constructed cage, and is VERY good protection for the ICOM IC-705! Previously, I was using a very good mini tripod to put the 705 in an operable position. I know that the rig needs some protection from the rigors of travel, and believe that the cage will provide me with some of that..... However, the cage uses the tripod screw on the bottom as the main point of security for the rig in the cage. As a result, once the rig is in the cage, you CANNOT secure a good tripod stand to the cage. As a remedy, I am ordering some 1/4x20 tripod adaptors to try to again use a mini tripod stand to raise the 705 using a secure mini-tripod stand! (Manfretto).

Fits perfect, and protects the whole radio. I've heard the GPS doesn't work well with it on, but I've had no problems, even indoors.Works well with the RC-2 antenna mount.Two things could be improved:1. It makes it more difficult to mount on a tripod.2. The RC-1 antenna mount doesn't work with this cage unless you remove the corner brace. Would be nice if they made a replacement brace to fit around the RC-1.
