Filter size is 4.25" X 4.25" X 0.5" Check manufacturer's sticker inside bottom of range hood to ensure proper fit for your Winflo wall mount or island mount range hood. They are attached to the range hood blower to clean the air before recirculating back into the house. Duct work is not necessary. My vent hood is recirculating, which is my primary problem. These do the job well enough without venting to the outside. Matching the size to your vent hood is a pain though, so double check. They did send me the wrong size the first time I reordered, but fixed the error quickly enough.

I assumed these were dinner plate size based on the picture, but they are actually about 3 inches in diameter and just cover the hole where the fan sucks in air. They seem to work well and I'm happy with them overall.
