The product has anywhere from 1200ms input lag to 2000ms input lag. That's with a 2024 flagship TV, all the correct cables, inputs, jump shooting and a 2025 flagship computer

I've tried three different brands of these HDMI transmitters now. This is definitely the best of the ones I've tried. All of them seem to struggle with heat a bit so the metal case on this is a big plus. The antennas are also a plus since any signal issues will affect video quality. This Coolpie kit comes at a bit of a premium compared to some of the others but the extra price is worth it for these features. While the device does support 4K video, we had significant video artifacts after 60 to 90 minutes of continuous gaming. While I can't be sure, I attribute this to heat buildup as the outside of the transmitter was quite hot at this point. To be fair, this is still significantly better than the two other brands I tried - one of them outright died and the other started smelling like burning plastic. At 1080P@30Hz the unit stayed cool and did not have any issues after 5 hours of continuous use. I will also test 1080P@60Hz to see how it fares.Be aware that depending on your hardware and OS you may have to do a bit of hoop jumping to change the actual signal resolution to 1080P. Initially when I changed the display resolution it defaulted to scaling the video with the GPU and thus still outputted a 4K signal even when a 1080P resolution was selected. With my NVidia card and Windows 11 I had to go into the NVidia Control Panel, then go to "Display > Adjust Desktop Size and Position" and change "scaling mode" to "Aspect ratio" and "Perform scaling on" to "Display". Once I did that it would output at the chosen resolution instead of scaling to 4K. That significantly reduced how hot it got.Latency and video quality were better than the other two I have used. However, there is still perceptible latency. The experience is definitely not on par with gaming on your connected display. But it's sufficient for casual gaming when precise timing is not required. I've been playing Star Wars Outlaws on it and it's totally fine for stealth missions, but does make aiming harder in more intense fights and I tend to crash my speeder (even more than normal). It's nice though being able to play on my downstairs TV hanging out with my family even though my PC is in upstairs. In the past I've done that using Parsec and my laptop, and while Parsec on a LAN feels a bit lower latency than this solution it also requires more hoop jumping and a second PC. This is plug-and-play simple and I can set it up to let my daughter play PC games without having to sacrifice my laptop. While this is better than the alternatives I've tried, I still have to subtract a star because of the issues I had at 4K.
