I was able to install in about 45 minutes including. Removing the system from the dash and reinstalling it. I do not use the satellite so I did not reinstall that module. As other reviews stated, the screen has excellent resolution and it connects most of the time quickly. Sometimes I have to turn off and on my Bluetooth if it doesn’t launch but that is the only issue I’ve had so far.

I purchased this adapter to go in my 2018 Toyota Highlander. Overall, I am totally impressed with the solution!! The integration is fantastic, and I love that I didn't have to give up the factory radio functionality. Some things to consider:- I am techy and mechanically inclined, but I found the installation to be tricky. Watch all the YouTube videos you can on the removal of the factory radio and installation of this adapter (watch multiple times if you can).- Leave yourself several hours to do the installation. Go slow and don't feel rushed!- If you want to keep the XM module, plan ahead and buy the XM extension cables. Even though I read of people being able to keep the module in place, I found that to be impossible in my 2018 XLE Highlander (Panasonic, 86100-0E291). The radio + XM module + this adapter pancaked together was just too “thick” to allow the radio to be mounted in the dash as designed. See my XM module cables review to understand where the XM module can be relocated.- The audio output solution is a little wonky as you are advised to continue to use the factory Bluetooth pairing for all audio out. I found this to just be counter-intuitive to how the output should work.- For Siri integration, I am finding that how my iPhone wants to respond is through phone integration with the factory stereo (instead of over Bluetooth). I am still not sure how to fix that.- In the setting screen, there is a “factory mode”, which allows you to change several things, including how the audio works. I wish there was more helpful documentation on all those settings, how they work, and the pros/cons of each one.- Wireless connection works reliably, but the connection to establish after car startup is probably on the order of 20 to 30 seconds. I wish it was much faster.- The wired connection works well (even though I wish it was USB-C based). You can locate the USB cable in the dashboard “tray” that is under the temperature/fan controls, by wedging the cable between the tray facia, just under the controls. After installation, it is practically hidden in the tray.- The screen mirroring is interesting and mostly a bonus. But, as I have tried to stream video services to it (Netflix, YouTube TV, etc.), I find those videos don’t show up as expected. Maybe I am doing something wrong?

Ordered this decoder and it arrived quickly. It was well packaged and included instructions. I installed it with three hours. The next day I ran into some issues with a flickering screen and reached out to support. They got back to me within a few hours and stated that the ribbon cable had not been properly seated, so yes, I had to pull it all apart again, but the advice was accurate. Another hour and a half and I got it fixed. Works like a charm! Non-invasive install keeps it looking and working like factory. User interface is great! Worth it!
